This team is already much improved from the way they played my pirates. Must of been a long week of practice. Definitely better Qb play.

It is all about match-ups tho. The Burgs defense is better than what the Ironmen have shown. Jmo

Good half of football. Minimal penalties on both sides.

Half

Ironton 14-7

I agree for the most part. I have been in and out but appears they are playing alot more disciplined this week.

Both have up 14 at the half , but I agree with you Jackson will have some growing pains for a few games but this team could make some noise down the stretch. Burg can’t throw like Ironton has been.

Yup they can't throw at all. As a matter of fact tell coach to not even practice for pass defense against wheelersburg 😀

Pretty sure jackson was down. And if he wasn't Ironton recovered in the end zone. Horrible call.

Was at the Ironton Grid Iron Classic Today. Is there a reason why the announcer is not coming through very clear on the home side of the stadium. Sounds muffled and couldn’t make out a lot of the announcements.

Key takeaways from week 2:
1. If we don’t find a center who can snap and block, we are gonna lose some games we shouldn’t. There is no excuse for a 6’4” QB to have to jump to retrieve every snap. This messes up timing on plays that could go for much better games. FIND A CENTER!
2. Zayne Williams has clearly established himself as the #1 running back. Tyler Carmon is the next best back on this roster and is getting no action. Get him involved.
3. Thacker looks great throwing the ball when he has time. The O-Line did an excellent job for the most part tonight giving him time.
4. Terry is a difference maker. Get the ball in his hands as much as possible. That was a great look getting him the ball at the HB position late in the game. Williams needs 20 touches per game, Terry needs 15.
5. This is the poorest tackling I’ve seen from an Ironton linebacker group in a very long time, this week AND last. It may be time to mix personnel up a bit.
Great win! Keep improving!

I thought Ironton was much improved. The Defense gets better every week and was really impressed on how they adjusted. The linebacker and DB crew is young and was really impressed how they contained the D1 RB.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a better week to week improvement than Irontons this week.

Qb was dropping dimes, Almost no penalties. Defense is getting better and better.

Jackson RB was a hard tackle…but Ironton did a great job containing him.

Very impressive one week turnaround.

The Gridiron classic is awesome, I really enjoyed all the football! The BBQ vendor was delicious also.

Jackson played hard tonight. Left some scores on the field. A lot of new kids cutting their teeth out there. Ironton is a very good football team. Fast , physical , plays hard , and plays fast. Jackson needs to heal up, it doesn’t get any easier with a very good Wheelersburg coming to town. Should be a great game next Friday.
