When I was looking at the matchups last night after the conclusion of Friday's games, this is one that really jumped off the page. I would not be the least bit surprised to see West Jeff walk away from this match up with the win. As previously stated, Newcomerstown's lack of playoff experience, coupled with their strength of schedule (they only played three teams with a winning record, and lost two of those games), may come back to haunt them. This is one I will be paying some attention to next week.

West Jefferson not the power they were last year losing 23 Srs. That being said Newcomerstown lost to Shenandoah 44-6.

Less competitive than I expected, but heading towards the outcome I think a few of us felt might happen. Strength of schedule, experience, and culture in the West Jeff football program made this one an interesting match up based on seedings.

Agree 100%. Just based on the program, I fully expected WJ to be one of the better playoff teams in the region. Maybe a lot of this year's starters didn't see varsity action last year, but they've benefitted from 3-4 years in a winning program.

Well, the #4 seed gets beat by the #13 seed by 35 points. Will be interesting to see how many 13-16 seeds actually won tonight. The final was 49-14.

Nice win for WJ in a tough season, 7th losing season in the last 67 years.
