West Muskingum 33 Marietta 2 2022

Post by pioneer19 »

Marietta lost by 30 to River. West M beat Lakewood by 6.

Coming into the season, I had this chalked up as one of Marietta's wins given West M's recent history. After reading the MVL schedule thread, it sounds like West M is going to be tougher than I thought and will likely be the favorite in this one. Lakewood isn't traditionally very good and they played the Tornadoes close. Hoping for a good one. Thoughts?

I expect West M to win by 2 or 3 scores.

Marietta scored 22 on a good River team.

They can double that on a bad team.

Marietta 44
WM 27

No idea about this one. Don’t know much about WM, other than that they seem to be slowly improving as a program. I think Marietta wins 26-14, but with such a young team it is very hard to predict.

I expect this to be a good game. West Muskingum looks pretty solid. Probably not better than River, but by no means would I say they are a bad team. Hopefully Marietta will be at full strength tonight. MHS is a young team and having two of their key, experienced players sidelined last week certainly did not help their situation against River.

West Muskingum 33
Marietta 2
Final

Thought this one would be more competitive. Tigers lone points came on a blocked punt out the back of the end zone.

Ouch. Tough one for the Tigers. Hope they can regroup and get this turned around.

Congrats West M.

West M has a shot at the playoffs for the first time in about 15 years. I could even see them hosting.

I am glad to see WM post another win. The league will be a fight weekly for them so winning now has to give those players confidence.
