Well I guess the coliseum it is. Going to be a dog fight between these 2 teams. Will have to play all 4 quarters of this game for sure. Go Tigers!

Hey Guy.. It’s “THAN this craphole.”

Why the negativity? 😂😂

Portsmouth Coliseum is a beautiful facility and we are very proud of what we have to offer to provide a great playoff atmosphere for historically two of our greatest rivals in all sports.

Agree Jackson would be perfect for both crowds. And I don’t think there is a better place to watch a football game is southern ohio.

These 2 teams played at portsmouth the last time they met up with no problems, us you are have the home side not sure why you would complain lol.

Besides with the crowd you had last night im guessing seating won't be a problem at all..

Plus plenty of other options for those not wanting to come and sit home in their living rooms

I guess we’ll actually get to see how “great” this Ironton coach is. He’s blown smoke up every rear end in town. Overrated hype machine!

Great venue! Awesome job by ohsaa to get the best site available the Coliseum is a great place to play and plenty of parking . Jackson would have been ludicrous way to far of a drive not knocking Jacksons field its the best in Southern Ohio just saying that would have been dumb to drive that far when the Coliseum is so close and more than capable of hosting this game! Can't wait! GO BURG! Burg is playing with house money now! Last nights game was epic

I would say the big dining room the ribber just added onto their building may come close to paying for itself Saturday lol

We all know Burg will pull out all the stops. Everything in the tool box is coming out Saturday night. This one's going to be fun.

I think Portsmouth was a good choice. I can't think of a better place for this matchup. With wins over Waverly, and Ridgewood, Burg is a much better team than early on, and peaking at the right time, but with that being said, Ironton will win this game for 2 reasons: 1. Ironton has a better line on both sides of the ball. 2. Ironton has the superior defense. As far as offense, they look to be about even with the exception of the line. I'll take Ironton by 14 or less.

I can't see Burg moving the ball on Ironton, pirates might not score a touchdown in this game. Ironton should win this one somewhere around 14-0 or 14-3.

No it’s not easy, but they beat Portsmouth twice this season! I’ll also add with a freshman 3rd string quarterback and numerous other starters out hurt.
Yeah but the score was a lot closer the second time around. Ironton is definitely the favorite don’t get me wrong. Even if they do win I really can’t see the score being like it was the first meeting.
Ironton had 2nd string QB against Portsmouth who played those tough first 4 games of the year though QB3 a freshman had to walk out and win 2 playoffs games in his first start it’s impressive that they’ve won but it wasn’t because of the QB play
I just know I’ve watched burg since that week 1 game and the’ve gotten a lot better

Glad it's at portsmouth. 2 local teams and a local school hosting it. Keeping it close to home for both squads will benefit seo. Hoping for a good game. Go BURG

Why do people keep saying the Burg is “playing with house money” and “have nothing to lose”? From the analysis I’ve read on this thread it seems most people think they may be the favorite based on Ironton injuries and terrible play calling, as well as Wheelersburg’s apparent amazing improvement.

Good luck to both.

I think Ironton will win but it’s late in the season and thjnags can happen

Ribber is good but I always liked to hit CR Thomas before the game in Ironton some years back

Ironton has more to lose because they have brought in more than enough talent the last two seasons to better their chances to win championships. So if they lose then they obviously don't know how to recruit talent. 😂

Had more expectations maybe, but it seems most people on this thread don’t see those expectations the same. Circumstances change. You yourself said if Wheelersburg wins it makes them the superior playoff program. They go from “playing with house money” underdogs to the superior program with one win. Doesn’t sound like they “have nothing to lose”.

Bingo!!! Burg has just as much to lose as ironton.

Burg has nothing to lose in this game because according to you and the majority of Ironton fans on here after that first meeting, burg would be lucky to have a winning season. Would probably finish third in the SOC and won’t make the playoffs. Well Burg blew all of those out of the water so Burg has nothing to lose because they shouldn’t even be here. Just go back and look at the post after that week 1 loss.

Burg will show up and be ready to play this game. Burg has wanted this rematch since week 1 so now it’s time to prove they belong in this game

The loser goes home and the winner goes to a regional final. Both teams have exactly the same thing to lose.
