Vinton County Makes History
Vinton County Makes History
With tonight’s 45-0 win against the River Valley Raiders, Vinton County guarantees it’s first winning regular season since 2004. Congratulations to the Vikings! VC has a chance to capture its first ever TVC Ohio crown since 1999 if they can pull off a win against the Nelsonville York buckeyes next Friday. Showdown for the championship!

Congrats to Vinton amazing a school that size and some of the schools they play they haven't had a winning season since 2004. Congrats
Re: Vinton County Makes History
That's kind of surprising. Nonetheless, good luck against NY.

Wow. Maybe Zane Trace is better than I thought!
If VC is this good and ZT beat them.
Maybe both are better than ppl give them credit.

If that's history making then VC football has a long way to go.

Love all the hate for VC. A program that hasn’t done much since 2004 begins to have some success and they get share thrown on them. Lol I love it.

I’m happy for VC. You always love to see teams bounce back after some tough years. But I remember when VC was the real deal in the 90’s so when you hear that having a winning regular season is making history it just sounds a little odd. Hopefully the Vikings build off this momentum and the new standard can be winning seasons, league championships, and playoffs every year.

You’re right. A .500 season is not a winning season. What’s your point here?chrishilton91 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 7:23 pm IMO .500 season is not a winning season. It's a .500 season lol

Worse they can do is 5-4 which would be over .500chrishilton91 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 7:23 pm IMO .500 season is not a winning season. It's a .500 season lol
Re: Vinton County Makes History
Definitely different time for VC in the late 80s and 90s but you have to start somewhere. VC basketball went 30 years between TVC championships in 2003/04. That was history. Just like a winning season in 17 years is history. Hopefully coach Carper and the program is ready for a run like Combs and the basketball program has put together.Ironmen34 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:51 pmI’m happy for VC. Let’s be honest, it’s mainly shade from Fort Frye (because they can’t get into the TVC and somehow it’s Vinton County’s fault) and NY, who have been challenged by the Vikings over the last few years. We also have another big game coming up Friday. So I wouldn’t expect anything less from buckeye nation. At least a few of them. Not all of them.

It’s definitely a step in the right direction. I think VC’s new expectations should be fighting for the TVC and playoff appearancesDundas wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 7:30 pmDefinitely different time for VC in the late 80s and 90s but you have to start somewhere. Re: Vinton County Makes History
With the expanded playoffs, you are correct. VC should have the mindset to finish above .500 and build off of that. Being in the mix for a TVC championship in week 9 is definitely moving in the right direction. It’s easy to be a fan of NY and look at a winning record as nothing more than normal. But back in the early 1970s when Nelsonville and NY were trash, I bet their first TVC title was looked at as something special. It’s all about perspective.Ironmen34 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 7:52 pmIt’s definitely a step in the right direction.
