Remembering former Ironton team physician, John Leach

Dr. John Leach, a noted Columbus orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon, recently passed away.

After a 120-mile drive back home, the former Ironton High School quarterback roamed his alma mater's sideline on Friday nights. He drove to wherever the Tigers played for more than three decades. He also provided medical care at Otterbein and Ohio University, often on the same weekend!

Dr. Leach's dedication and service to the student-athletes at Ironton High School, and elsewhere, was truly remarkable.

Hats off to all the team physicians and athletic trainers who take care of the gridders who provide so much entertainment on Friday nights!
