I wrote a couple articles to the Daily Sentinel "letters to the editor " in Pomeroy back in the mid 80's along with other people discussing the pros/cons to Meigs leaving the SEOAL at that time for the TVC. My con opinion which was not favorable to most other's that were writing in was essentially that by running from competition into a smaller league , it would eventually lead you to play down or get complacent to the caliber of your competition yearly and not be able to compete come tourney time against good teams your size. Well, all started out good in the TVC with Mike Chancey & Mike Bartrum quarterbacking back in the mid-80's all was roses and they had a few 9-1 & 10-0 seasons but didn't make the playoffs and the only year they've made it since was 2008. It's 35 years later and sadly this is what it's probably coming to as they aren't competitive in the Ohio so let's move down to play the Hocking teams and a small WV school for some wins.

Here’s my solution.

Meigs and Washington County petition to be annexed by West Virginia.Join WV conferences, go to state playoffs and crap, heck maybe between eastern and warren win a couple in baseball!

If these teams are sick of the TVC, aka Athens Cty league, why did they join? Or is it you and not we?

WILL THESE TYPE POSTS NEVER END. EVERY WEEK SOMEONE HAS THE INSIDE SCOOP ON A NEW LEAGUE OR SUPER CONFERENCE WITH 3/4 DIVISIONS. TEAMS ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO PLAY TRADITIONAL RIVALS. IT'S HIGH SCHOOL. EVERYBODY NEEDS TO PLAY TEAMS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THEMSELVES. AND HAVE A VERY CHALLENGING NON CONFERENCE SCHEDULE. LOOK AT IRONTON NON CONF. WHEELERSBURG, ASHLAND, RUSSELL. LOOK AT BURG'S OOC. BUT TEAMS DON'T WANT TO TRAVEL GREAT DISTANCES TO PLAY OTHER TEAMS. AND EVERYBODY IS IN VERY SUCCESSFUL LEAGUES AS IT IS. YOU HAVE YOUR LONE WOLVES THAT ARE TRYING TO GET IN A CONFERENCE. LOOK AT LOGAN, SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE THEM IN. AND GET IT OVER WITH. AND HELP THAT PROGRAM OUT.

For this league the Grove isn't going anywhere, but dont be to sure about them not leaving the OVC. There have been discussions in the Grove about looking elsewhere. Dont know how serious it is but the Grove could be on the move in the future.

trap I think that would be the equivalent of marshall leaving the mac for c-usa. and taking away all the natural rivalries that are there. the ovc is a very good conference for all sports. just a couple of years ago. the grovers won the league. when marshall was in the mac, they could travel to any game and man they traveled like a herd. they were geographically setting perfect. then they cut their throats by moving to c-usa, and have to travel all over the country now. and your average fan base can't do that. I would give anything to see them back in the mac
