I thought Fairland should have used some sprinklers on their field. It looked like the wild west out there. I bet the ground was hard!
Besides, I don't see how a wet field would give The Blue Devils an advantage over Portsmouth.

Hope I'm wrong just don't see GA beating Ironton ! With the 4 transfers they have plus they already had a good team ! Playoffs Waverly has got to play Minford plus the Burg ! Going to be a good run for playoff spots !

Didn’t see one bad snap last week. Hunt will be the best athlete on the field but that’s not enough. 38-34 Gallia
Best athlete would be Gallia's Armstong
Briar Williams is a faster runner, according to the GA track coach. Said he was the fastest kid in the school, just by a hair.
First off, Armstrong is also 25-30 lbs. heavier. But Briar may be faster. Nothing against Briar at all, just saying. And if I had to wager, I'd bet Woodson is actually the fastest on the team. What a problem to have.

In pads, maybe. All I know is what was heard from the track coach. He said Briar and Daunevyn raced at the end of the year and Briar just edged him out.

Ok. One race that could happen. What was the distance? I guess you could always check their times during track season last year. They both ran. I do think they have different kinds of speed. Regardless, any coach would kill for that kind of speed for one kid on their team, let alone 3!

Yeah I’d say any coach in SEO could find use for 3 kids who’s 40s range from 4.4-4.5 those 3 can fly and we saw a small glimpse of Woodsons speed against fairland. Time to put him in the game plan a little more. #6 has some wheels too just not like those 3

Maybe 4.6 no 4.4 or 4.5 At this time ! Very possible down the road hard work will pay off.

I didn't think much of the officiating in this game. Seemed to be face mask happy, but blind to holding.

Not sure of the distance. I know I had a nice chat with the track coach at Meigs though. Commented on the overall team speed and guessed that Woodson was the fastest on the team, but he corrected me.

Said that Briar just edged him out

Well if Armstrong ran a 4.5 at the opening and people are saying Williams and Woodson are faster that puts them pretty close to the 4.4-4.5 range

Woodson can run a 4.5 for sure. I don’t know if he’s any faster than he was in 7th grade though. Armstrong a football player. Woodson a track star when healthy.

i Think in pure speed Armstrong is probably only 3 fastest on this team. As far as football speed goes he is much faster then the other two. Armstrong is at top speed super fast. I am sure in like 100 meters when technique and all really comes in the other 2 might beat him.

4.6 yes but not 4.5 or 4.4 ! The track times don't add up ?

40 times and track times don’t always add up. When I was in high school I had a very fast 40 time. As I was blessed with little guy leg turnover time but long legs. I was a 4.6 to 4.7 guy so in the 80’s I was not considered slow. I was by far the fastest player in 40 on my team.

But I was never going to break off a long run for a Touchdown because a lot of guys could catch me in track. I was not a good 100 guy at all. I would consider myself average but I was a very decent 400 guy because I could maintain that pace a long time.

A 40 time is so much about the start not speed.

Just happy that we have them all on our team. Lets get back to football chatter!
