Give credit to the Big Red and their scheduling. Who wouldn't want 7 to 9 home games every year?

Re: Steubenvilles Schedule - WOW
The out of state teams aren’t very good. It’s just paying for playoff points
Re: Steubenvilles Schedule - WOW
Penn Hills PA went 8-4 and lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Morgantown went 4-7
The Hun School won Prep "A" title 14, 15, 16 and went 8-1 and to the playoffs
University Prep went 4-7
Dover went 6-4
New Philly went 9-2 lost 1st round playoffs
Erie, PA went 9-3 lost 2nd round playoffs
Cardinal Ohara went 3-7
University School went 7-4 lost Rd 1 playoffs
Playing 5 playoff teams, not terrible by any stretch.

I am a Big Red grad and when I got my first teaching job I asked the school why they had so many away games lol! Took me a while to realize its not normal to have 8 -9 home games.
We also could never win the OVAC conference title because we didn't play enough teams in the conference. Its still the same way.

Yes, Big Red doesn't put a lot of emphasis on OVAC titles. It's all about a state title to that city and school.
That schedule is as tough as any school has in D-4. The Hun School, in New Jersey, could be the toughest.
Check out the Hun School website. Tuition is like buying a new car.
Steubenville packs 'em in at Harding Stadium. Visiting teams get a nice gate payout.

Not terrible at all! But we can make that 6 playoff teams. Morgantown made the WV playoffs with 4 wins. They lost to Martinsburg in the first round 61-0. eh.. maybe make it 5.5 playoff teams..coop wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 1:10 pm Penn Hills PA went 8-4 and lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

To be fair, Bait, that’s more so a matter of their conference (the OVAC) to officiate than the state.YOU'RE TIGER BAIT wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 9:46 am I always wondered how the state allowed this myself.
I always wondered if any of the out-of-state teams did some Steubenville tourism. Y’kniw, check out the house where Dean Martin was born.
Re: Steubenvilles Schedule - WOW
What a joke, looking at the # of ohio teams listed looks like maybe teams are getting tired of the 1-way street, so they're finding teams from other states. Nice money racket they have going for themselves but I prefer the old adage, "any time, ANY place". To each his own with it but I just don't see myself wowed by anything, you play that many games at home with the officials of your choice, think that's called stacking the deck and in odds makers world gives you an additional what 10-14 point.ohbuckeye2 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 3:43 am Looks like they have 9 Home games and 1 away game this year, and only play 3 Ohio Teams.

I think Ohio schools are getting smart enough to not play a team, who only wants to play home games.
Props to those teams.

Exactly why would anybody from Ohio play them if they only want 1 year home only.

The scheduling has always been this way ! Works out as far as playoff appearances and state titles goes! Alot of schools still want to come and play even if its just going to Steubenville for a 1 year home. There have always been alot of out of state teams also on the schedule. I remember being in college and coming home to watch a game they were playing a team from DC who happened to have Josh Cribbs at QB it was a fun one to watch.

If you have ever sit at a game at Harding stadium you would understand why they get 8 or 9 home games a year. By far the best place to watch a high school football game i lived there while working for 18 months love the town.

Coach Saccoccia needs 10 wins to tie Coach Lutz at 381 wins.
I bet he had a lot more Home wins than Coach Lutz had
