I think Athens makes a deep playoff run so i think they could make a run at that record. Really looking forward to see how Athens plays against better competition/close games to see how they respond.

They already have that spot from 2012 season and 5th spot from 2013

Good point Noreply, those records had 4 Q's of regular play. They need to start a new record book for the mercy rule scores.

I don't think Athens is looking for a state record in scoring .

Yep, it's not fair to Athens, those other records had 4 Q's of play. Start a new mercy rule records. :)

Seems like the running clocks are not doing much to keep the scores down,I have seen an awful lot of big numbers put up this year from scores around the state, might as well go back to the way it was

Maybe not but it would be interesting to see where they would have finished without the running clock.

Still makes a difference Bolt. Rules have changed, so it would be good to start a new mercy rule record. Pretty hard to break some of those that got to hammer on it for 4 Q'S, and some of those total points they had to full throttle it pretty hard for 3 Q's, maybe more. Sounds fair to me to make a new mercy rule record imo.

Not saying it would or wouldn't make a difference, but their brilliant rule is not keeping scores from getting lopsided and out of hand if that was one of their purposes for doing it,I can understand it keeping players maybe a little safer shortening the game.
