Nelsonville-York (21) @ Newark Catholic (14)

Post by Orange and Brown »

The Buckeyes come in off a 21-0 win over Trimble.
Newark Catholic comes in at 0-1 losing to Maysville in week one.

Thoughts?

This will be a tough game.
I think the Bucks pull out a win in a very close game.

NC doesn't look as strong this year. Look for this game to go to OT with the Bucks pulling it out.

If N.C has their 4 starters/players back, that missed last week, I think they win.

Those I talked to did not say.

A couple of those in street clothes were moving around nicely.
I am going to guess they will be back soon.

It will be quite a different view this Saturday. Going from pee wee stands to a college type stadium! Go Bucks!

Is that Route 13 or 16?

Night and Day, that's for sure. NY is kind of spoiled with Boston Field and having most of our usual schedule all having nice stadiums to go and play away games in. Maybe one day Trimble can have nice things.

Newark Catholic is always a tough game for NY and I don't expect this year to be any different.

Maysville is not a great football team. They are a bigger school, but not overpowering. I expect NY to go up there & compete with the greenwave.

Surprised nobody has thrown out the 'P' word yet.

This is a huge playoff opportunity for the Bucks.

Not only pick up a 2nd non conference win, but put the Greenwave down 0-2 in region 23!

As Trump would say ... this is yuuuuge!

The computer does not discriminate. A week 2 game is the same as week 5 or week 10. Just sayin

Nah,I doubt it. Phil fired the only good coach he had, so they don't know a good thing when they have it. Coincidentally, he's 0-2 against NY since he got rid of that coach. But that was the wee cats, and they were wee, week, and slow. It was easy to out coach that bunch too. But NC will be well coached and have some play makers. This will be a test on Rusty's ability to prepare the team. Can he fix the holes up front? Can he get a running game going with the running backs? No BIG 3 this year, but they're not bad if they have room to run. Also plenty of motivation after the mess that was last year's game between these two. GO BUCKS! Gots me some Buckeye Pride!

This will be the 8th all-time meeting between the two schools. NC has the series edge, but several of the games were close contests.

2010 Newark Catholic (H) 13-9
2011 Nelsonville-York (A) 34-12
2012 Newark Catholic (H) 32-6
2013 Newark Catholic (A) 34-16
2014 Nelsonville-York (H) 9-0
2015 Newark Catholic (A) 27-26 OT
2016 Newark Catholic (H) 41-21
