Unioto Coaching Change

Post by BIGTIMECOUNTRY »

After 6 years of being at unioto coach Jerry Hudnell is stepping down...Can anyone confirm why hes leaving? thoughts.....sadly hes leaving a school where hes got a load of talent coming back and bright future for the shermans football program.... Hopefully they find someone a little more loyal to the program.

Unioto has really come a long way in the past 6 years. Hopfully whoever takes over
can continue that success.

6 years as Unioto football coach is nearly a lifetime when it comes to their history of coaching. He took the program from the depths to nearly their 1st title in 16 seasons. It's the 1st time that I can remember them having something to play for in Week 10 since Hartsock's senior year.

He did a great job and I'm sure wherever he ends up will be happy to have him.

Hopefully the school takes a good, long look at the interested candidates and picks the best man for the job.

I know a couple of coaches with really catchy names that are looking. It is rumored that they "can get kids to run through brick walls" as well, so....... Just sayin.....

Also, one of those guys, named Arnie, claimed a few years back that he was taking a few years off to work with his son on basketball skills, so maybe he is ready to get back into coaching?

I can only imagine the whopper transferring and becoming a Sherman tank

Will the people be open to me running grandpa puppy's offense?

Yea this is the type of guy I'm talking about. This name is a classic. Add to that Arnie, Dusty, Dutch, and so on. We need a catchy name like that coaching some where. Plus those guys are the ones that can get kids to run through brick walls, ie: Wellston, VC, Alexander, Southern etc...

Do they stay in house or go outside the school system for the next coach?

Have they hired a coach yet? I haven't heard anything about this in weeks.

I think they are having a contest with Vinton County to see who can take longer to hire a coach.
