Tigers get the win but better work hard this week to correct the defense issues.

The Streaks gave the Tigers a much better game than I'm sure many people expected. I thought Connor Galloway played a very well in his first varsity start at QB. Congrats to Waverly on the win.

Couple plays go a different way and this game could of been in overtime, Piketon settled in nicely in the second half ! Galloway kid will have a successful year, also I look for freshman running back to see a lot of playing time ! Congrats to Waverly, they have a very good team!

Score should have been 28-0 at halftime , terrible call on TD taken away from Kane Jordan.

Bigdog,
There is indisputable evidence on least two digital cameras Kane Jordan had one foot down with full possession of the ball. IDK how the ref blew that call.

I have a video of Jordan's TD when you can clearly see it was a catch. He took several steps afterwards too. Thankfully for Waverly it wasn't a play that ended up being costly, or that would have been a huge controversy.

I thought Galloway played very well for Piketon. Showed a lot of poise. The defense looked solid in the second half, too.

Both of these teams could win 8+ games if they are able to stay healthy.

Piketon will win some football games, After tonight I have no doubt. Going in I was not sure of the QB position but Mr. Galloway played well for a first start.
Waverly was more run-oriented than I expcetd but Kritzy did his thing over 100 yards on the ground and a couple of scores, Howell looked composed in the pocket. O-line blocked well most of the time.
Defense was hurt a little on the dink and dunk passing game, but then Jordan figured it out late with the pick. Tigers travel to Zane Trace SATURDAY evening. Zane Trace shutout a young Logan Elm team in Week 1.

The one ref said he was juggling the ball, totally blown call - HUGE difference in momentum at that point.
It's no secret Waverly's defense is going to struggle early. With two starting linebackers out and no one to step in, Tigers had to pull a couple corners in, replacing their DB spots with much less experienced kids. Tigers had a freshman at the one corner. Not sure what can be done about it other than younger kids gaining experience. It is what it is.

Nice performance from the Redstreaks, particularly Mr. Galloway in his first start.

Inexperience in the secondary certainly showed for Waverly. The DBs played way too soft and allowed a lot of underneath passing yardage. As Steve said, the only cure for that is game experience and confidence.

The next two shots show the left foot down and then the right foot down. (both inbounds). The ball doesn't appear to change position or move but maybe a video would reveal more.

Very impressed with Piketon's team and Mr. Galloway. Very big strong line and solid skill positions. They should win a bunch of games and challenge for the SVC title. Good Luck!

I'm sure Waverly's staff learned a lot about their team. Not easy replacing so many quality players on the defensive side of the ball. The Tigers will improve and get better each week.

So how long is Jake Reed going to be out? Does he start on defense?

Jake has compression fracture in his spine. He will at least be out half the season, maybe longer, depending on his re-evaluation. He was starting TE on O and LB on D.

Waverly should have two pick (not sure if Galloway threw both). Kayne Jordan and then the pick by Cobe Marquez. The ball came directly from the receivers arms into his, it never hit the ground. The ref started to grab his bean bag to throw (on fumbles) but quickly put it back.

I don't think I have ever heard this much whining about officials from a team who WON! Lol. What, winning by 15 not enough for tiger fans?
