Ironton in this one. I think they bounce back after that loss to Bishop Hartley. Speed kills but it also helps you play faster. The Oaks are not as fast as whay the Tigers just faced. Good luck to both teams.

you are right they are lucky to be 5 and 3 but not because of burg but because they could have very well lost to gallia they would still mop the floor with burg

I'll go out on a limb and say Tiger's come out pissed off after their run through the gauntlet and they'll be looking to feast on the Oak's! I hope both teams stay injury free and prepare for the run!

I really like Oak Hill in this game... control the clock with the run game and get a win at the end.

Ironton has already "clinched a playoff spot". That's why I think they need to keep scheduling the way they do. Year in and year out, Ironton can play right with the Johnson Central's and Watterson's. Hartley is just in their dynasty right now and Ironton took a beating. But no worse of a beating than what I've seen between league opponents in the OVC, TVC, and and SOC. At least Ironton schedules an out of the area powerhouse to get their beatdown.

As for this week's game, Oak Hill has Ironton right in the position they want them. Fresh off 3 straight losses and some banged up players. I look for Ironton's strength of schedule to win out here. Although I won't be a bit surprised if Oak Hill keeps it close early.

If Ironton comes out and plays like they did against Ashland then I think they will win. However I dont look for that kind of performance so I'm guessing this one will end up being a good game. After watching 7 of the first 8 Tiger games this year I have came to the realization that were not going to win games very often if the score stays below 20. Our defense is lacking in a huge way, so a shootout will give Ironton a better chance. The injuries are mounting as we all know so I think a win for the Tigers will be everyone that walks on the field, walks off it as well. That being said I say Ironton wins 34-30.

I like the Tigers in this one but it should be a good game, I sure don't expect a blowout.

Is the big FB for Ironton out? Will he be back? The QB out for the year?

The QB is most likely done for the year. He's in a walking boot now.

Heard today the FB is to have knee surgery. Don't know if this true.

I thinkit"s a combo of things, we have less an less players each year with the town getting smaller and smaller, in the long run i wonder just how much a super schedule helps when eveyone is hurt? this yeay we have been hit with the injury bug, we need to take of business this week at oak hill and get ready for the playoffs, I'm telling you oak hill will not be a pushover as some might think! i always root for all area teams except when the tigers come to town. so good luck both oak hill and those TIGERS

I agree with YOURTIGERBAIT this years fighting tigers are to soft sure the fighting tigers has played a monster schedule but they have goten beat by all the good teams on it they have not beat a good team not sure if that prepares you for the play offs or not look how beat up they are losing a starting Q B and a kid like Lewis can no way be good for you!

this team just dont have the fire they did with a Lutz coached team .

they are still way to strong for "either" SOC that would be stooping to low for the fighting tigers they already pound the strongest the SOC has to offer every year in the first game.

Wheelersburg 7-1 best in SOC II MAYBE TOP 5 IN DIV V
Hartley 8-0 best in Division IV Matuska-Notre Dame, Marcellous Callhoun-Cincinatti, Juwaun Woodley-Toledo, Alonzo Saxton- at least 10 schools a top junior
Watterson 5-3 Division III HAS PLAYED A TOUGH SCHEDULE INCLUDING HARTLEY, DESALES, AND OTHER COLUMBUS TEAMS
Russell 5-3 tough schedule losses to ashland and irontonAshland 8-1 top 5 in their division, beat #1 George Washington considered a division 3 school
Portsmouth a down year only easy game

All that said Ironton is poised for its post season tradition into the playoffs. Minford was undefeated and still was under ironton in region 15 because Irontons tough schedule. So dont kid yourself that somehow Ironton is down or they have been beaten up. We play for championships not playoff berths, thats the expectations of a tiger. So all you haters that think because to big schools who are private and select players based on talent to attend their schools think its a sign of weakness are mistaken. Ironton tested itself, couldnt get a 10th game because local teams wont' schedule the orange and black unless they are loaded.

Ashland beat George Washington without their D1 running back Switzer.
