I never said that making the playoffs is a bad thing. All the points you made are correct. It does generate interest in the school and community. What I don't think is good, is getting there and getting beaten badly. That can possibly turn away all that interest by some people. Of course I was excited when Caldwell made it, but I was not excited with the outcome. There comes a point in time when simply making it isn't enough, you want that win.

Wow what a game...Jakefromstatefarm was dead on the Skins used size to wear down the Cadets.FF jumped out to a 21-0 lead. After a couple turnovers the Skins and the run game made it 20-21.After a Max TD it would be 28-20 with time running out.FF looked to have Skins stopped on 4th until Dylan got a facemask penalty.Well Skins score and go for 2 to send game to OT.FF gets ball abd Chand Lang runs in his 24 td of season and 4th of game pat good.Caldwell then scored on a VanMeter run.Caldwell had dominated the line so they decide to go for 2.FF stopped Caldwell 6 inches from endzone to win 34-35

Great game to watch. Just wasn't quite the ending I had hoped for. After getting down early, Caldwell was able to make some big plays and get back in the ball game. Their offense isn't flashy or explosive, but like eastern said, it just wears you down. Run after run after run. Perfect example was a run by Vanmeter I believe, got hit about 4 yards past the line of scrimmage, then dragged what seemed to be the entire cadets defense another 8-10 yards with him. It was a game of speed vs power, and this time speed won. Like I said, exciting finish and a great stand in OT by the cadets.

Fort Frye outgained the Skins 379-203....The susprising stat is Rushing was 202-203 Skins...Caldwell was able to get back in the game with costly penalties and fumbles by Fort Frye.

If Fort Frye makes the playoffs, that's a giant step forward for this program. If they get beat 100-0 by an established program, it might then be two steps back . . . it depends on what the kids and coaches do with it.
