We have scrimmaged with Trimble for several years now and a few things remain constant, we don't open up the playbook for this one and more often than not they actually win these games against us. Athens usually uses this game to play several borderline players to see which ones are most suited to contribute right away, winning usually isn't and shouldn't be the main focus of the last scrimmage. All you want to do is get your starters a series or two in full speed game situations and get them out healthy.

For a program that doesn't focus too much on winning this scrimmage, they sure celebrated like they won the Super Bowl two years ago after beating Trimble

I didn't say the kids don't enjoy "winning" these games, I said the focus of the coaching staff isn't on and shouldn't be on beating Trimble in a half scrimmage where the risk of injury outweighs any potential benefit.

Athens won the varsity portion of the scrimmage 20-6 despite throwing 3 interceptions in the half. Trimble skill positions look to be decent but need a little work. Athens defense was very strong. On a more sour note Trevor Sorrell appeared to be in a lot of pain after what looked like a ankle injury, hopefully he'll be ready for Gallia.
