I think the OVC will come down to them, Rock Hill and CG.

They should definately be good on offense with 13 players on the field :122245

If they improve on their first 5 game record than they could possibly push for a playoff spot next year... there coach is a classy guy and their players always seem to be well disciplined.

If really think Chesapeake was the better team, you need a reality check!

Hey Big E, You go find out the final statistics and tell me who had more total yards, more first downs, and more points! Back up your argument with some facts! Actually i will save you the time and effort b/c we all know you would rather sit there and run your mouth!

CG CHS

First downs 11 14

Rushes-yards 32-100 49-242

Passing yards 124 65

Total yards 224 307

Cmp-Att-Int 7-16-2 5-9-0

Penalties-yards 7-45 7-59

Punts-Average 6-28.2 5-27.0

Well look.. I will be danged Chesapeake out rushed the Hornets by 142yds. Yes CG threw for more yard but toss in 2ints with that! So the total yardage was Chesapeake 307 and Coal Grove 224 Chesapeake also had more 1st downs 14-11. And the biggest thing! Look at the Penalties! Each team had the same amount of penalties but Chesapeake had 14 more yards penalized on them!

So Heavy E, How bout u go grab a reality check! Back up your statement with some facts. Those are all the facts you need to see that Chesapeake did infact dominate the game. And oh yea they won in another category also! SCORE! haha.

NO NOT ENOUGH SAID!
Here we go with some more facts that u cant seem to come up with.

You said Coal Groves last loss was questionable? How? They lost 42-12.

Coal Groves Out of Conference Opponents Record an astounding (27-24).

Coal Grove lost to Lucasville Valley by 28.
Coal Grove lost to Oak Hill in the playoffs by 30.

Proven fact Lucasville had a weaker schedual that Coal Grove yet beat Coal Grove 49-21 and didn't make the playoffs even though they also had a mark of 8-2.

The Grove made it to the playoffs with a weak schedual, no conference championship, lost the little Brown Jug and they proved nothing in the playoffs.
Accompishments: (1) State Playoffs

NOW...

Chesapeake's Out of Conference Opponents Record (45-12)

Chesapeake lost to Oak Hill by 28. Two points less than CG!
Chesapeake lost to Lucasville Valley by 22. Six less points than CG!

Proven fact Chesapeake Had one of the Hardest non-conference scheduals in the area 4 of the 5 made the playoffs.

The Peake won their Conference, won the little brown jug, won the joe smith helmet, lost to Oak Hill and Valley by less than CG!
Accomplishments: (4) Won Conference, Jug, Helmet, and lost by less points to Oaks and Indians.

NOW THAT IS ENOUGH SAID!

And it is Peake not PEAK!!

Could you tell me who has more conference titles CG or Chesy?
Could you tell me who has more playoff appearances CG or Peake?
Could you tell me who has gone the farthest in the playoffs? How many times?
In the past 5 years what is the record between the two schools?

I think these would be some very interesting facts! And please...just the facts, no comments are needed.

CG does have more conference titles for sure. I am not so sure on playoff appearances, but if I had to wager a guess I would go out on a limb and say Chesapeake may be even or slightly ahead of CG. Chesapeake did make it to the Regional a few years back, winning games that no one thought they should be winning. And going back just five years, I would say CG may have a slight edge, I don't know, I haven't been following as closely as I used to, but lets go back ten or fifteen years and I would say Chesapeake would have the edge. (Again, I don't have any numbers, just going by a shady memory that's had one or two concussions.)

Matt52 --- You are right!

Dime-a-dozen --It was interesting how you went back several years to make it look like Chesapeake was ahead in all categories. There was a period that CG won this series 21 out of 22 years. I love history! It saddens me these days that people don't show respect for the top teams. It seems no one can be happy for other teams! Chesapeake has a glorified history in basketball, Fairland in baseball, South Point in track, and Coal Grove in football. Each program wins a game from time to time, but why do people get on here the win they do upset a top program and act as though they are the best ever?? You won a game for the first tuime in three years and you try to rub it in?!?! Thats why I bring up history! Be glad you won this year, highly questionalbe call or not, and look forward to next year! I hope Peake goes a long way in basketball this season!!! They are very talented and have a GREAT tradition!

These are the facts just for knowledge? (Think how this would look for Peake in Basketball!!)
Coal Grove has 27 OVC titles -- Chesy probably around 8
Coal Grove has 9 state playoff appearances -- Chesy 7
Coal Grove has made it to the State Semi Finals 3 times (Regional Championships) -- Chesy 0 attempts to State - Semifinals

The past FIVE YEARS -
OVC Championships - CG - 3 -- Chesy 1
State Playoff Appearances - CG 2 -- Chesy 0
Head to Head winners - CG 3 -- Chesy 2

It's no different than what you did with the five year thing. Go back ten and Chesapeake has the advantage. It works both ways. Now as far as next years team is concerned, from what I hear they have good potential. I coached a good number of these boys when they were younger and they do have some athletes.

It is interesting to me why you only want to go back 5 years!
81- You say Facts only! How bout you do that as you then turn around and say uhhhh Chesapeake Probably has 8 OVC Championships when they actually have 11!
From 1998-2004 CHS lost one OVC game (2001)

OVC Champions from 1996-2010
96-CHS/CG/Fairland
97-CG
98-CHS
99-CHS
00-CHS
01-South Point
02-CHS
03-CHS
04:CHS
05:Rock Hill
06:South Point
07:CG and South Point
08:CG,Fairland and South Point
09:CG
10:CHS
CHS-8 (1tie) CG-5 (4ties)

Go Back 15 years Chesapeake clearly has the Edge in OVC!
Go back 20-25 years Coal Grove has the Edge!

So please tell me what this has to do with the Thread of Chesapeake Football 2011?
Answer: Nothing at all!

OVC_CHAMPS-81 (wrote): Each program wins a game from time to time, but why do people get on here the win they do upset a top program and act as though they are the best ever??

Nobody from Chesapeake acted like they were the best ever! They were simply taking up for their team when a Sore Losing Coal Grove Fan put his foot in his big mouth and then couldnt back it up with facts!
We appreciate your interest in Chesapeake Football, but honestly nobody cares what Sore Losing Coal Grove Mouths have to say about this whole history thing or how they so called got screwed last year. It has nothing to do CHS Football next year.
There is a Coal Grove Football 2011 Thread go post on that as I did! But notice I had nothing to say about the 2010 game. Stay on subject, thats why the threads have titles!
Sorry your are living in the past 81.
Grow up and move on, b/c Chesapeake Won in 2010.

I wasn't at the last CG Peake game... but I am curious to how many wins the PEAKE has at home overall and when they are up to win or tie the OVC. Just wondering!!!!!

I was at the 2006 game and I know that there were calls on the field I had NEVER heard called in my entire life while attending football games which is over 40 yrs and haven't heard those calls since..
