From what I heard, Hinton turned it down.

Any one with Any sense would not take this job. Reason, you will have 1 maybe 2 good years (not great) good years and then the talent really falls off the table.
In todays coaching, it is win now and and later, if not parents will gang up on you!!

Several reasons to take the job if you want to be a head coach. 1. Great people, the town really supports their athletics. 2. Great Administration and A.D. that support the football team. 3. Great facilities , one of the best small school stadiums in the area 4. one of the best weight rooms and field houses in the area. 5. Have not worked in the school district, but know people who have, its a great place to teach.6. One of the best support groups in the area, Oak Hill's mother's club really works hard to feed the kids, great food. They also work hard to make sure the kids have the extras. 7. Last but not least the kids are wonderful.

No new head football coach has been hired at Oak Hill.

There was a BOE meeting tonight, but no coach was hired.

Not really a good sign for the Oaks football program. Boys need directions now in the weight room. The longer it goes on the more it will show this fall.

Blackjack, you are right . When this happened to Wellston the Rockets went 6-4 which is good season for the most part. That was when Brad Young and Thomas Mayes ,Lance Phillips among other good players were on the team. so not so good for the talent level at the time for Wellston.
The Oaks need to resolve this soon.

Charles Farquar - if this is such a great job why are they having troubles filling the position? Why hasn't one of the assistants stepped up and been hired? Are they all leaving and not coming back this fall? What is going on in the Oaks football program? The Oaks need a coach now.

Oak Hill has advanced PE so their team is lifting regardless if they have a coach or not. Coach Phillips is the advanced PE teacher so he will have them working. Word from people in the know is that a coach has been offered the position, just clearing up some details in the paperwork

Ironmen44 you should understand the situation before you are so sarcastic. First, none of the varsity assistants are returning. One is going northwest with phillips, two are not coaching this year, and one has been offered another job. I have been told by a coach in oak hill that they had some good applicants for the job. Unfortunately they are hurting for teaching jobs. Heath Hinton was offered the job. He couldn't afford the pay cut and didn't like the assistant situation. Like Charles said, this is a solid job for the right guy. Great facilities, advanced pe class, and good community support. Maybe it is time for the "community football experts" Charles talked about in an earlier post to apply. All mouth and no go for those boys.

Oak Hill will be fine. They will have a good season. They are the second best team in the county. Just a opinion.
