Pounding someone and running up the score are two completely different things. Waverly has never ran up the score under Coach Wright. A few years ago when Waverly made the playoffs in back-to-back years, they only scored 40 or more points five times in those two years. Waverly beat West 33-7 in 2006 and 39-14 in 2007. I hardly call that pounding someone or running up the score. West has beaten Waverly 49-0 and 65-14 over the past two years though. Call that what you want. Waverly was rock solid those years because their defense only gave up about ten points a game. And their offense scored their 35 points a game and then let the JVs take over.

I don't think Triplett will run up the score against a down Waverly team. But, I do think he'll allow his starters to go deeper into the game to get them prepared for the tough league schedule in the weeks to come. The only downfall to this is risking possible injury whenever the game is already out of hand. Things can get ugly and cheap shots are more common when a team runs up the score. Good luck to both teams and an injury free game.

Gonna be a long night for Waverly. Waverly first 2 poss. equal 2 blocked punts for West TDs. Then Pendleton ripps off a big one for another 6. West 21-0 first quarter.

I hope coach T brought 11 middle school kids to put in so he won't be accused of running up the score.

The Minford fans got on this thread accusing West of running up the score. It sounds like Wheelersburg is "running up the score" on them tonight leading 38-0 after 3 quarters.

Why was Pendleton playing in the 4th quarter? The game was over at the end of the 1st qtr. Why jeopardize getting a super athlete hurt? How much pride can you take by beating Waverly by 50 points?
