Interesting comments from across the river I'd hope that some of them aren't true, either way, it would seem the Tigers would want nullify them completely Friday night

Tiger fans need not worry. We will improve. The important thing is we won, again. The 89 state champion team was behind the first three games of the season and had to come from behind to win each one. Russell had us beat that year. Tiger teams always get better each week.

Of course we "need to worry"! All it takes is a moment of complacency/overconfidence to let down your guard. "Worry" is what keeps motivating us to try harder - practice more!
"Worry" means taking every single opponent seriously from the start, and every player giving every play in every game all their attention and effort!

Yeah, you are right. "complacency/overconfidence to let down your guard" and not "taking every single opponent seriously" has really plagued Bob Lutz. Let downs have seemed to become the Hallmark of Ironton football.

We had better be terrified I guess. There is no way with Ironton's track record that Bob is going to be able to break his own record. Geez.

I'll bet you learned all that from your playing days, didn't you ?

Of course I didn't PLAY!! I'm an old unathletic woman who walks using a cane - as you know..
What I meant was that Bob Lutz never ever calls ANY opponent a "cupcake" or a "pushover", and neither should we FANS. My guess is he ALWAYS tells his team to WORRY about all opponents.
I was responding to the "don't worry" comment - which I took as "take it for granted" - by saying worry = respect >> preparation. I'm so sorry I had the temerity to have a thought or post a response, and you're right - I don't know ANYTHING about football from firsthand personal playing experience.
