I couldn’t agree more. Both teams already have some guys that won’t play today. Both will run very watered down playbooks. Just hope both get in and out injury free, and any kinks that either need worked out get taken care of.

Looks like Portsmouth on its way to another fantastic season filled with sarcastic remarks from people who like to take shots at hard working kids. Just remember a large reason PHS has some 3-7 years is because we have been repeatedly turned down by the SOC, so we must go and play the Jacksons, Logan’s, Gallia Academy’s and Ironton's of the world, and because we know were most likely will take some knocks in the league the Wilmington’s, and the Burgs and West as non conference games. Where others get the luxury of playing Huntington Ross, Rock Hill, South Point, Northwest, and Waverly.

Is that 8 scores to 6 scores or 8 points to 6 points? If it was scores then there wasn't much defense played. If points then the offenses must have struggled a little.

I wasn't at the game but I am sure Valley JV did not score twelve more times.

Points sorry about that Valley ran well on Portsmouth but not like the Minford scrimmage. Valley didn't score on offense on the Varsity level they picked off Mason Jordan and took it to the house but missed there extra point. Portsmouth did score on varsity level offense with a pass to Zaide Whitley who juggled the ball but then caught it and took it for a td. Portsmouth went for 2 and Zaide also caught that. Overall Portsmouth did better than i expected and have a week of practice to fix the stuff that went wrong tonight before going to Willmington!

Yates, the QB from Valley did not play and it really showed both on offense and defense. Valley's QB struggled badly with arm strength, under throwing every pass I saw. I think valley controlled the line of scrimmage, with Valley breaking several long runs. Portsmouth has athletes that made some amazing plays, but seemed pretty small up front overall (some people were mentioning 2 starting offensive lineman quit earlier in the week for Portsmouth). Overall I both teams showed promise, but have several areas that need addressed.

I was thinking , what a piece of s it you must be to talk about a bunch of kids, then I remembered Athens and your postion and who you are, and my thinking was correct.

you probably should be a girls basketball coach over there, you would sure to win 20 games a year.

Wow here we go again with people putting up ignorant comments about KIDS....There is no excuse for those type of comments......These are kids
Hope this year is injury free for all teams.
