Logan has played better teams and has gotten beat pretty badly, Jackson has beat bad teams by a lot of points. The key to Jackson's success is that their D hasn't gave up a point or 100 total yards to a team yet. Logan no one knows how good they really are because they play teams obviously way better than them. My point here is to say just because Logan has played better teams has nothing to do with how well they will play this week against Jackson, and the same goes for Jackson. It is league play and it is JACKSON VS LOGAN so who knows how this game will go?!

But I honestly don't see Logan winning this game, Jackson has too much speed and talent this year. As long as they don't turn the ball over and play D like everyone knows they can, they should have no trouble beating Logan by 21 points. Like I said it is Logan vs Jackson this one could go either way!
Logan has yet to be beat by 30 points--but you make a point

I know that. Sorry for the mistake though, I was just trying to prove a point.

Although none of the teams Jackson has played are that great, they have been playing excellent football on both sides of the ball. They have 2 possibly 3 D1 recruits in the backfield (QB,RB,WR) along with a very talented Jr. class. If Logans D line is pretty good I could see it being a close game because Jackson's line isn't bad, but nothing spectacular.
Can someone fill me in on who Logan has that stands out this season? I don't know very much about their team this year.

I wonder what Jackson is going to do this weekend. Will they run the no huddle spread or will they line up and pound the ball?

IronmenTradition -

Logan's best players, IMO, are RB/LB Cory McCarty, G/NG Paul Wesselhoeft, and WR/CB Isaac Lindsey.

McCarty made his first career start last year against Jackson (as a sophomore) after Logan lost Brandon Graham to a season ending knee injury against Reynoldsburg. He had a 100-yd game against Lancaster but has found little running room against bigger/faster Pickerington North and Reynoldsburg teams.

He is also the teams best defensive player.

Wesselhoeft (6-2, 240) plays guard, fullback, and nose guard for the Chiefs. He is disruptive on the defensive line with the ability to over power players or use his quickness to get by them.

Lindsey was the teams leading receiver last season and is the leading pass catcher this year. He is one of the fastest players in the league and has been very solid in pass coverage so far this year, nearly shutting down Mykel Traylor-Bennett of Reynoldsburg who had over 100 yards and multiple touchdowns in the Raiders first two games.

Quarterback Kelly Long (also plays some safety) has shown bright spots but has been a little inconsistent. He tends to force things if he get frustrated - if he stays comfortable he can be dangerous.

I also really like fullback/linebacker Michael Simpson - he's a great blocker on offense and was an able pass catcher last season - and showed last week the ability to make plays running the ball.

Tight End/Linebacker Jordan Sharb has good size and will need to continue to play at a high level for Logan to be successful.

I'm probably wrong....but I think we have had 2 D1 players in the last 36 years....unless Morehead St is D1

I would imagine that IronmenTradition is referring to Osborne, Ervin, and McNelly. They went to several camps last summer and have been receiving interest from various colleges. I haven't heard of any offers being extended to them at this point, but hopefully they do get a chance to play at the next level in some capacity. They have certainly worked hard to give themselves that chance.

Ironman92...The only players that I can think of that have played D1 football since I have been watching Jackson football are Erik Davis (Ohio), Doug Wooten (Ohio), and Geoff Mathews (Dayton - D1AA). I could definitely be leaving someone out, but that's all that I can come up with off the top of my head. Just shows how difficult it truly can be, because Jackson has had several amazing high school football players who never received a D1 offer.

Okay I got it,,,,,,now time for my prediction I'm thinking the score will be closer than people might think, but if I was betting gotta go with the ironmen 28-14, here's hoping Logan will cut down on the penalkies, bad snaps and don't give up any big returns and well just maybe the unthinkable

I love the Jackson fan enthusiasm, but 3 D-1 recruits? The fact of the matter is not to many D-1 schools recruit kids that go 5'10 170lbs. and run 4.8 40's from deep in SE Ohio. They want the horses that play real competition. Great athletic players for the area, but lets not get carried away with Jackson's early success.

Don't let your guard down Big D. You keep doing your part and the offense will secure it. The D has been nasty so far but as the season goes on the task gets tougher and tougher.
GO BIG RED!!
