Logan does not have as good as a line as does Ironton...therefore...Jackson might have a chance to run the ball at them...and stop the run on defense....

Let's look at the facts:

Ironton Rushing VS Logan: 51 carries, 188 yards (3.68 per carry)
Logan Rushing VS Ironton: 22 carries, 97 yards (4.41 per carry)

Logan Passing VS Ironton: 178 yards
Ironton Passing VS Logan: 9 yards

Logan 21, Ironton 7

The stats seem to point out that Ironton couldn't move the ball at all against Logan (especially in the 2nd half when they only managed 3 first downs).

Meanwhile, Logan averaged nearly five and half yards per carry and outgained Ironton by over 100 yards.

TIGERS90 wrote:If Jackson somehow can get pressure on the qb...and cover the receivers...it might be a tough night for logan...

Ironton doesn't do well against the pass and Logan had two pass plays all night that beat Ironton...and an interception...

With rain in the forecast...I believe it will be closer than many expect...Upset special...Jackson 14..Logan 13...

No...can't do it...It's being played at Logan...officials always seem to favor Logan largely at home...Logan 35..Jackson 14...with people shaking their heads all night long wondering where the flag on jackson came from...seeing there wasn't even a red jersey in the area....  :122246

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Perhaps you forgot the 2 touchdowns that were called back on Logan in the first 5 plays?

Or the late hits by Ironton players that weren't called?

Or the "slow movement" of the chains to slow down Logan's no-huddle offense?

I've never seen a more embarrassing display of officiating than I saw at Ironton. An umpire who could barely move. A referee who didn't know anything about enforcement. It was obvious they must not get out of the Tri-State area much because they had no idea how to officiate a game where the ball was actually THROWN down field.

Jackson I:

From 93, you get on 33 East toward Nelsonville. You will take the first exit (State Route 328). At the top of the ramp make a right. Follow the road which will curve left (you will pass the Brass Ring Country Club on your right), once you get around the curve you will see the school and stadium. You absolutely can't miss it.

I take it you probably don't know much about the history of this rivalry. In the past, there have been blowout wins for both teams, but more often than not, this is a great football game. Logan is a heavy favorite this season, but I can assure you that Jackson has grown used to competitive football games with the Chieftains...games which usually decide the SEOAL title, as is the case on Friday.

According to Jackson's records, Logan holds a 44-40-4 advantage in this series.

On the contrary. But when studying history to get a hunch about a game, I usually stick to most recent history. Since these two took a two year hiatus until last year, I base my prediction on last year. That score was 48-7 with the game at Jackson. This year, going on most recent history, will be much the same as Jackson has grown use to. Which is a drubbing from Logan.

Just my thoughts guys!

Their base defense is a 5-2, but against Logan's spread, they'll most likely be switching things up.

So after one blowout loss, Jackson should be used to that type of thing? Your post seemed to imply that Logan routinely blows Jackson out. If that's not what you meant, then that's fine.

I just looked at the weather, 100% rain. Definitely going to hurt the passing game. Winds 10-15, gusts to 25 mph
Logan 28
Jackson 14

Thanks, boilermaker. Good luck to the Rockets too.

I am so sick of it raining every Friday. It has been absolutely perfect the entire week, but I just knew that it would be nothing but rain once it was time for some football. That's how it goes, I guess.

Good luck to the Ironmen tomorrow night. You couldn't have a better opporunity than this one. You get to go into the reigning champion's house with a chance to take a piece of the SEOAL championship. Let's see SEOAL title #21 and clinch a playoff berth!

GO IRONMEN - BEAT LOGAN!!!

I completely agree. I've been complaining about the rain, but there's no way I will ever let the weather stop me from watching the Ironmen. After the embarrassingly low attendance against Ironton on Senior Night, our fans owe it to this team to make the trip to Logan and support them as they play for the SEOAL title tomorrow night!
