From what I've heard, #46 is well on his way to being a top-notch defensive back for the Grove. I'm told by many of the fence-leaners that his nickname is "Flash" because of his speed. It was a pleasant surprise to see #59 get the kind of playing time he did. He's a talented kid - much stronger than you'd think he'd be. He was considering not playing this past spring/summer; I was glad he played and I'm sure his coaches are, too.
yes he has come along way it good to see 64 back out there now he couldnt play because his eyes but now he is back and will be tough once he is back in playing shape. this has to be the fastest team we have had for a while and should have good speed for a few years. hope they keep working hard
4-2 i think the last 2 we lost at peak we gave it away and had a good come back on the point mon lost by a score but i think the point game we should have one but we were missing 46,59 took some speed away. but we have alot of younger ones on varsity if we could have played those 2 and 22,16,and i think 78 is a sophmore also . thats a good mix there
OK Let me help put the 1985 RH/CG fight to rest. I played for RH and there is a little story about that fight. The week before RH played the Burg. RH running backs Always did their warm up going down the 50 yrd line and back on their 45. As the Burg came out we were going down the 50 and the Burg was coming up the 50 we just moved over for them. Coach told us to NEVER give up the 50 yrd line again. If we did we would pay for it in practice. The next week RH/CG game. RH back was doing their warms up CG got off the bus dressed and came down the side line side by side and started down the 50 yrd line. RH had half their back already on the C/G sideline waiting to go down the 45. The rest was still waiting to go. The backs went right down the 50 splitting C/G. and that is how the fight happened. Sheriff Hieronimus got RH at one end and C/G at the other and told both teams that if there is one more fight the rest of the night he would call the game. RH won that game 13-0. AS they say now you know the rest of the story.
i played in that game we came out of the locker room and yes we were sent back afterwards and the sherrif did say anymore fights the game was off and would be a loss for both teams. but there was no one on the field when i came threw must have been on the side i know it was the end of are line where the collision happened didnt know anything was going on untill the crowed got loud and the yelling. watching it on film was pretty cool also as are guy caught it on tape. after the game it was funny as the guys from both teams were talking about it laughing. after we dressed in the locker room
i wish the hornets would come out and pla a full game the way they can every week we have had a chance to put people away and we havnt they only team we have is paint valley and i think the speed was the difference. if they would come out and play 4quarters hard football i think they would see how good they are. they had minford down 20-6 at one time and minford came back to beat them. if they come out and play its over early if they let them stick around it could be bad.
