local playoff picture through week 4

Post by kvnchambers »

i know there will be mistakes in these numbers i tried doing a interactive spread sheet where when i entered data on one sheet it would go everywhere needed. i think i fixed most of it but please if you see mistakes call them out so i can fix for next week.
i am missing about 5 second level points games but i dont think none would effect positions much

i made several mistakes first time i posted these are fixed now and similar results up on Joe eittels site.

division 6 region 23
1. sciottoville 5.425
2. beallsville 4.746
3. fairfield christian 4.550
4. south gallia 4.275

6. danville 4.150

7. jackson 6.675
8. indian hill 6.475
on outside looking in
thurgood marshall 6.350
dunbar 6.225
gallia academy 6.125

unless there are some surprises in this division as season goes on i am not sure athens or jackson will be able to host a playoff game even at 10-0. they probably would better several teams here will be 10-0 or 9-1 and a lot of 9.1 would have more points then jackson or athens. frday may be an elimination game for gallia academy. i am not sure they can make it in at 8-2. if they do they are going to need wellston and licking heights to have good seasons and marietta to squeeze out a couple of more wins. i could be wrong still very early. but to make playoffs this year in this division i think you will need 4 more computer points then last year. maybe more.

Honestly, thanks for the extra time you put in to do this. I hope many local SEO teams from the TVC, SEOAL, MVL, SOC, PVC, ECOL, etc. make the playoffs and represent the "hillbillies" well!!!

Jackson and Athens have games against Warren, Gallia Academy, Chillicothe, Waverly, Vinton County and Wellston.....and if they both go 9-1 the 4/5 slot might happen.

Just a long way to go. Jackson will need Logan to beat Gallia, Warren and Chilly to gain on Athens and move up....but would get more points if those teams beat Logan. Of course Jackson must beat those teams first....Chilly and Portsmouth beating no one non-league hurts.

I wonder if Jackson can make it at 8-2? They have Warren and Ironton yet---The Dawgs could be hurt by Trimble's cancellation, if The Grove had won. There are a lot of teams from Dayton and The Cincy area that I know nothing about but, so far it's been fun to watch and we still have a lot of local teams in the hunt---Good Luck to All.

You can't assume what the other teams will do but I think 9-1 will get them the #4 or #5 and 8-2 will be the #8 or #9

Those teams are good and each have two difficult games and if they win 1 of them the'll be ahead of 9-1 Athens or Jackson.

It's hard to run the table in any league and it's way too early to speculate on seeding.

I appreciate the numerous hours of work that you have put in to crunching numbers, predicting and finding scores....but I do not believe Athens will finish 4 spots ahead of Jackson if they both go 9-1. Alexander will give them a load of points if they beat them but the overall point will slowly close together between the two schools as the season goes...IF Jackson beats the teams we are both predicting. Did you put Logan beating any of the following: Gallia, Chillicothe or Warren....to me those are difficult games to predict and the outcomes of those games will make a decent impression of where Jackson and Athens might end up.

Logan Elm may not lose to both Canal and Amanda....and beating one of those vaults them into the top 5 or 6.

Shawnee has three tough opponents left and I'll be surprised if they lose all 3....and that would bump them up greatly winning just one of those games.

I basically predicted that any game that i thought would be close that the team i was looking at would lose. of course because some of the teams go head to head. then i had to choose one or the other. My guess is each week that the numbers will change a lot just like they do in actuality. i think i only predicted Logan to win 2 games when i done this. logan elm could easily go undefeated. i think several other teams that only have one loss may not lose again. But i was looking at it just to sort of put a predictable finish up. like if two 2-2 teams met and one was division 5 and one was division 2 i gave the game to the division 2 school. Do i think these numbers will be correct probably not. but i love to mess with numbers and i love sports gives me a chance to mix to passions together.

Isn't Harvest Prep banned from post season play? There is a thread on here somewhere about them being put on probation and being banned from the post season. So how is that going to affect the standings if they remain in the top 8 of the region? Will the #9 team get the nod instead?

Here's the link to the post.

The best way to aproachand think about the playoffs is to take the season 1 week at a time and worry about the playoffs and seeding after week 10. GOBUCKS!!
