UC and then on to the Bengals and after 3 games tore his rotator cuff which went undiagnosed or he may have been a Hall of Famer later.

I don't know ? I believe they were at that time in the old Central Ohio League (COL) but teams were coming and going in that league every few years and it stretched from Columbus over east and down south to the Ohio river. Ironton was in that league before they moved to the SEOAL.The teams in that league in early to mid 60's when Greg played high school were:

Chillicothe, Ironton, Newark, Lancaster, Zanesville and Marietta. (Other teams in it at various times were Grove City, Westerville, Upper Arlington, Mount Vernon, Cambridge, Dover and Coshocton)

Bill Walsh famously said he was the best QB he ever coached. You know why thats high praise considering who he coached.

old story has it that Greg could throw a football 100 yards. (probably more like 80 if he had that strong of an arm)

It was a bummer when I heard he wouldn't be playing anymore. Thought he would have been a great one.
