I just heard that the tvc tourn. was going to be held at Belpre high school this year. Is belpre going to have a full team this year? What can we expect from belpre and the rest of the tvc?

Belpre should be very good this year. They have a number of tough kids back plus the two best wrestlers in Southeast Ohio Tim Randolph and Ashton Packard. I see the TVC a two team race with Belpre and Wellston who finished 2nd last year and has most all kids back.

119, what about NY, they are always good, and I know they have several good kids returning. Remember last year you played down NY, and they ended up winning it all. Come on tell it like it is; let's get the ball rolling. We're just 8 weeks away, and us wrestling fans are ready to rumble.

Im just a NY wrestling fan but, NY has 4 or 5 kids that COULD go to state this year. It all depends on if they want it bad enough.
This team will have many Juniors and soph's and will be very good in 08-09.
That will be when the Bucks have a tough lineup from light to heavy. This years 8th grade will be in high school and as many of you know , what they lack in numbers they more than make up for in talent. They have 5 kids who could be undefeated (or only 1 or 2 losses) going into states this year.

With the young kids coming up, next year nelsonville will return to it dominance over the tvc it has seen in the in the past few years. i think the weak spots in nelsonvilles lineup will hurt them to much so there may or may not be a 6th straight tvc title.

NY will be tough. They will have Sectional Champions in Hook and Lyon back. Along with the Norway brothers, fox, and with the younger Lyon coming up from Middle school. Once the weights shake out they should have a solid line up.

Boy, I'm going to miss watching my son compete with the Buckeyes. Especially with the TVC being held at Belpre...his Dad's high school. That would've been sweet to watch him compete there, like his Dad. Oh well, time to stop being so daggon melancholy!

The Buckeyes still have some pretty good kids in their line-up this year (never underestimate their talent and coaching)...and next year, whew!

Belpre has some good competitors in Randolph and Packard, who should make it out to State, if they stay healthy and keep improving as they do every year. I wonder who they have coming up from Jr. High?

By the way...I'm sorry to hear about your old Jr. High coach passing away. I told my husband about it. He thought a lot of him.

NY mom, NY will surely miss the services of Corbin Boney, but I know that they have several good wrestlers returning.
The season is just a few weeks away, I hope we can still look forward to your positive, common sense posts on these websites.
Good luck to all tvc teams.

Thanks for the nice compliment afan! :)

I plan to go to some matches and tournaments this year as well. Once a fan, always a fan! Can't wait for the season to start! :-D

Why will NY's 8th grade be wrestling high school? the age thing? Will there be a jr high team then? I know my 6th grader can't wrestle with the jr high but was hoping for him to get some good practice time.

Lil&Big...Read the post again, he was talking about next year, when this year's 8th graders are in high school. Hope that explains it all! :-D

So, is your son getting excited about the upcoming season? I've already been thinking about the start of youth league. :-D

My bad  Did not see the line about 08-09 thought I read it a couple of times. He is so ready for this year, ME TOO :-D Football season is winding down and he's ready to wrestle. It was funny at the Athens game he got lined up against the boy from Athens that he usually wrestles during league. I asked him if he had to think to tackle him or try to pin him LOL. I've been trying to get some more youth to give wrestling a try. Will your hubby be back?

Todd will be home November 1st...don't know if he wants to coach or not...depends on a few things.

I have to get in gear and start contacting people about league!

It won't be long now; three weeks from today practice begins. With the success of the football team, the wrestlers should be sky high, and the NY Buckeyes should be looking for payback.
Good luck to all the teams in the TVC.

Really difficult schedule for Belpre. Medina, Logan Elm, and South Parkersburg will be (in my opinion) the toughest. However, the others are very tough as well. I sure hope we have a complete team this year. It really sucks for the wrestlers we do have and the success they have.
