Sorry it took so long to get this out this year. Very busy..Please call or email if you are interested. It is a great time!

Hocking Hills Team Cross Country Camp 2008

There will be a cross country team camp at Hocking Hills State Park the week of Sunday, August 10th to Saturday, August 16th. This camp is open to any teams in Ohio who wish to spend a week camping and running together. This camp is in its 3rd decade at the site which includes many trails, caves, waterfalls, a pool, and a fishing lake within a mile and a half of the camp. A coach or parent is expected to camp with his/her team for the week to help with supervision of the athletes, but this can be waived in RARE circumstances if you call the camp director. The cost is only $75 per camper. This price includes breakfast and dinner while at the camp. . It is a fun and rewarding experience which in very valuable in building a team concept as well as teaching about the sport and allowing for conditioning of athletes of all levels.

Further information regarding the park is available at: http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Parks/parks/hocking.htm

Activities:

1)Classes on racing strategies, nutrition, proper conditioning, stretching and strengthening, phases of training, and team strategies, and developing flexibility.
2)An opportunity to run two-a-day runs for a total of anywhere between 20 and 50 miles depending on the athletes current level of conditioning.
3)Swimming at the camp pool which is 400 meters from the camp site.
4)Hiking and running on an extensive network of trails including loops from 2 to 12 miles.
5)An opportunity to tour Old Man’s cave, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, and the other attractions at Hocking Hills State Park.
