No Reply, here are teams entered for the Mingo Relays: Alexander, Athens, Brookhaven girls, Granville, Lancaster boys, Liberty Union, Logan, Parkersburg, Philo, Southern, Teays Valley, and Trimble.

As far as the Chieftain Invitational for 9th ad 10th graders the invitations will go out this week to 70 schools. The Mingo Relays info will go out to those schools who have accepted the invitation, as well.

If there are any schools looking for a tough competitive meet on Saturday, May 1st we have a few more openings for the Mingo Relays. The meet will be of the normal invitational slate PLUS we will have the 4x1600, a shuttle hurdle relay, and the triple jump. Also, we will run no semifinals for qualifying. Since we have automatic timing we will run all races on time. The final heat will be the "hot" heat. Also, because of several proms we have opted to start the meet at 9:00 a.m.

Girls could have some strong sprint relays this year, a few kids that have not been out since junior high and are decent athletes are out this year. They were pretty good basketball and Volleyball athletes, will be interesting to see how they contribute, they were pretty good track athletes in junior high. Should be competitive in most meets in the relays . Individually the 100 meter and 200 meter will be good. Should pick up some points in the 300 meter hurdles also.Field Events some points in the high jump and discus. The Pole Vault offer by a local business was not accepted by the school board, so the girls will be giving up points there. Hate it when you end up losing by three points in an Invitational and the team you lost to had two kids stiff pole over the bar at 6 foot, that happened last year in one meet. There should only be one meet they are not full strength and that is the Oak Hill Invitational and some of the girls are going to Youth and Government that weekend.
