John Pemberton places 12th out of 26 in his first College Indoor track meet last Sat. GOOD LUCK the rest of the season.

Congratulations John, he threw against my son in high school and did an excellent job. He will continue to improve I'm sure.

Jackson's Greg James should also do very well this year. He finished 3rd I believe last year. That's in the State Track Meet.

John wins first college meet in the shotput at Northern Ohio meet, with a throw of 47'10".

Do they throw a heavier shot put in college? if so, what would a throw of 47' 10" be compared to in high school?

They throw a 16# shot in college and the drop from high school to college can be anywhere from 8 - 12 feet in general. Of course there are some exceptions.

I believe he has thrown between 46-48 feet.
