GAHS boys win 3rd straight meet 81-55

Gallipolis Gallia Academy’s boys defeated visiting Fairland 81-55 in a dual track and field meet Tuesday evening on the GAHS track in Centenary to remain unbeaten in three meets.

Gallia Academy’s Blue Angels won their second meet in three starts by turning back the Fairland Dragon girls, 69.50 to 66.50.

Combined, GAHS scored 150.50 points to the Dragons 121-50.

The Blue Devils earned 10 first place finishes in 17 events, finished second in six and third in three events.

The Blue Angels finished first in eight of 17 events and recorded nine seconds and four thirds. Points were given five for first, three for second and one for third and all relays gave five points to the winner.

Taylor Queen paced the Blue Angels in scoring with 16 points. Hannah Loveday added 10 points, and Brenna West eight.

Blue Angle firsts included the 100-yard dash by Hannah Watts in 13.56, Taylor queen was second and Breanna West third.

The 200-yard dash,won by Breanna West in 28.93 seconds. Taylor Queen was second and Jessica Price third.

The 400-meter dash won by Breanna West in 1:07.14. Taylor Queen was second and Kathleen Allen third.

The 4 by 400 meter relay (runners were Madison Holley. Naomi Sebastian, Abby Wiseman and Hannah Watts) in a time of 4:29.89.

The 4 by 800 meter relay (runners were Holley, Watts, Sebastian and Wiseman) in a time of 10:31.10.

Girls long jump won by Taylor Queen with a jump of 15-01. Gallia’s Sam Morrissey was second.

Girls shot put won by Hanna Loveday with a toss of 15-01.Ashley Huffman was second and Kim Faro third.

Discus throw won by Hanna Loveday with a toss of 97-03. Kim Faro was second.

In the boys division, Jacob Click led
Gahs scorers with 13 points. Jeremy Wilson and Michael Edelmann each had 10, Logan Allison and Wade Jarrell eight apiece.

Boys winners were Jeremy Wilson in the 100-yard dash with a time of 11:90. Wade Jarrell was second.

200-yard dash, won by Jeremy Wilson in a time of 25.10.Jacob Click was second and Josiah Cox third.

800-meter run, won by Michael Edelmann in 2:25.36.Tony Easton was third.

3200 run, won by Michael Edelmann in 13:50.26. Ryan Vallee was second.

110-yard hurdles—Won by Jacob Click in 16:59. Dakota Metzler was second.

300-yard hurdles—Won by Jacob Click in 46.56.

4 by 400-yard relay—Won by GAHS in 3:45.11. Runners were Jacob Click, Winston Wade, Shalin Logan and Raine Wireman

High jump—Won by Logan Allison with a jump of 5-06. Wes Jarrell was second.

Pole vault—Won by Caleb Craft,11-06. Cole Tawney was third.

Long jump, won by Wade Jarrell with a jump of 19:08.50. Logan Allison was second.

Shot put—won by Caleb Campbell with a toss of 44-05.
