I completely agree with you. I thought Snowden was a good challenge for the runners. Oh well.....

Unless something has changed, and I am unaware of it, only one championship trophy is given. There is no difference made between Ohio and Hocking Division schools when it come to the championship trophy.

As for the course location, it was decided back in the spring to have the league meet rotate among the schools, especially now that many of the schools have cross country courses of their own. Just a couple of years ago, Alexander was the only school to have a course. Now Athens, Alexander, Meigs, VC, and Wellston all have courses.

This year the meet is at Athens, next year it will be at VC, and in 2012 it will be at Wellston.

Team XC, good question to ask of Athens - however, at least you know well ahead of time, unlike this thing with their invitational. I have received many private messages and emails and phone calls because of my post, yesterday. It seems there are others wanting to get somewhere else to run tomorrow - September 11.

The date for the TVC meet was changed Wednesday at the league meeting. My AD told me the decision was made so that it was not being held on a school night. As for the location, the latest I have heard was that it is going to be at OU pending whether OU charges a fee for facilities usage.

I believe it was the monthly TVC ADs meeting. As for coaches from the league being in attendance, I don't know I wasn't there. I haven't had a chance to have a long conversation about it with my AD, so I don't know all of the details.

As for the school night thing, I'm just reporting what I have been told. It is funny how we have weeknight basketball games that start later than what this meet ends. I'm not sure I follow the logic of the decision.

Good luck to all of the teams this Saturday. The overall depth of the teams from top to bottom for both the boys and girls is as good as it has been. It looks like the weather Saturday morning will be great for racing. For the first time since 1984, the league cross country meet will be held someplace other than Lake Snowden. I know each person has his or her own preference, but I for one will miss the meet not being at Lake Snowden. I think it is a great cross country course that really tests a runner's mental focus. With that having been said, I also think it is a good idea to rotate the meet among the league schools, especially now that there are at least 5 schools with home courses.
