Re: Reg 19: #16 Minford @ #1 Ironton

No, I'm not saying that at all but I'm not going to keep going with this transferring and recruiting crap. I said in my previous posts it happens every where. I root for the Burg and it happens there and every where else. I mentioned private school championships because I believe it would give publi...

Re: Reg 19: #16 Minford @ #1 Ironton

Man, never a way to diffuse the transfer talk. I'll back out of this one. I say Ironton by how many they decide to win by. Good luck to both teams.

Re: Reg 19: #16 Minford @ #1 Ironton

Agree TigerBob. I moved my kids to the Burg for education. They were only a year and a half behind where we came from and had to do Summer school to catch up but it was worth it. Neither played sports. Different reasons for sure..

Re: Reg 19: #16 Minford @ #1 Ironton

Vlad, my kids went to the Burg. I did not but I know how it works. West and Portsmouth have kids transfer. It happens all over. Talent equals victories..sometimes their friends talk them into coming to play ball with them. Some of these kids play 3 sports and travel ball in different sports and get ...

Re: Reg 19: #16 Minford @ #1 Ironton

Saw Ironton game on Spectrum last night. Very impressive. They have improved as usual. I posted on Harvest thread I said at beginning of year it would be Prep and Ironton in regional final. Oh sorry, I forgot to mention the Le Tigres are playing the mighty Minford Falcons. It will be a good learning...

Re: Reg 19: #15 Meigs @ #2 Harvest Prep

Harvest Prep is a Christian private school so they can get kids from all over the world. It doesn't matter. Strap em on and go for it. I picked them and Ironton in regional final. I wasn't sure who would pan out in the other regions but I believe Prep can run the table.

Re: Reg 19: #11 Heath @ #6 Wheelersburg

It should be an interesting second season. I picked Harvest Prep early on to win the region but as we know from last year anything can happen. D5 should be interesting with a lot of good teams.

Re: Reg 19: #11 Heath @ #6 Wheelersburg

I agree. They acted like a different team last night. They were out of sync. West is a good ball club and I give them their props but Burg has played better and survived.

2018 Burg was moved to Region 20 and I missed it..back to 19 in 2019.

I stand corrected. Played Heath in 2018 as well and won 48 to 0.

Wheelersburg 59 - 0 Heath 2022 Playoffs

So all games first 2 rounds on Friday nights. Burg gets 1 home game for sure. Burg played Heath last in 2017 at Heath. Burg should regroup and take this one. Playing at home helps plus their schedule..Anyone's thoughts?

Re: WK10 Gold Ball Special West vs Wheelersburg

West played as advertised. Burg had no answer. Good luck in the playoffs. I believe last time West beat the Burg was 2011 until tonight.

Re: WK10 Gold Ball Special West vs Wheelersburg

You had JD Literall of the 77 Hogs who beat Burg at Burg. I believe JR Mosley was there in the Mid 80s when West beat the Burg. Also, the Williams kid who was QB for the 2002 team that went to state. West has had some good QBs.

I may be reading that wrong. A lot can happen above them plus the outcome of their own game. I guess I just was going off of max win avg.

Re: WK10 Gold Ball Special West vs Wheelersburg

Ironton used to win a lot of ballgames doing that. By the start of the 4th quarter your will wasn't there anymore after getting pounded for 3 quarters. It's good to see West getting some pride back in the Side. Their stadium is nice and the team has done well this year. Although, the Burg has played...

Re: 2022 SOC1 & SOC2 Predictions

I believe what we saw the Burg do last season will continue into this year. They got better as the year went along. Their mentality was no matter who the opponent was lined up across from them, the Burg was gonna win the game. Someone mentioned earlier about a mental block occurs when you play a cer...

I see your point and agree. You can go a long way with a playmaker. Happens all the time in basketball. Put a good supporting cast around the playmaker and you get Ws.

Re: Wk 14: Region 19 Final The Burg versus Harvest Prep

I think the people saying HP was unimpressive haven’t a clue what they are talking about. I think what they should be saying is how impressive Burg was. I think Burg caught HP off guard and were a little better than what they expected. Now, they adjusted in the 2nd half and Burg did not. Difference...

Re: Wk 14: Region 19 Final The Burg versus Harvest Prep

No sour grapes. I guess because I am not lauding and glorying a private school who can get talent from anywhere I have sour grapes. Congrats again to the Burg for being under rated as usual and a community of kids doing great things. WE ARE THE BURG.
