Re: Whitehall-Yearling (2-1) @ Hamilton Township (1-2)

Just like Granville, Whitehall has a quarterback who toyed with Hamilton Twp last year. If HT's offense keeps its momentum and fundamentals from last week, this has the potential to be a bit of a shoot-out. Rangers playing in their home stadium for the first time this season, that may help to avoid ...

Re: WK3 Hamilton Township @ Bexley

Almost forgot - it was good to chat with Bexley's PA announcer Neil Shapiro, who some might remember as a Top 40 DJ on the old WCOL-AM 1230 in Columbus during the early to mid-1970's. He was definitely a voice I knew from my high school years, sometimes went by Neil Martin on the air. I first met hi...

Re: Circleville & Logan Elm: dire straights?

Are any Circleville or Tarleton parents open-enrolling their kids to Teays Valley? Or possibly Westfall, if they have OE? Another possibility is familes re-locating to new developments in Commercial Point. I know some Hamilton Twp families who are doing that, but no idea how many. Re Circleville, I ...

Re: WK3 Hamilton Township @ Bexley

I want H.T. but feel Bexley post the win in this one. HT wins, 41-7. The Rangers showed big improvement this week on both sides of the ball. They attacked Bexley's offense early, and managed to lead 21-0 just 4 seconds into the second quarter. HT receivers did a much better job hanging on to the ba...

Re: WK3 Hamilton Township @ Bexley

HT needs get its offense in gear this week if it expects to earn their first win. Receivers could do a better job looking the ball into their hands. The tools are certainly there, so far they've been successful getting men open.

Fortress Field in Obetz again to see Hamilton Township take on Bexley - except this week Bexley is officially the home team because their stadium is undergoing some renovations.

Re: WK2 0-1 Groveport Madison @ 0-1 Hamilton Township

Final: Groveport 28, Ham Twp 14 Tale of two halves, sort of - for a while, almost a repeat of last year's matchup. HT led 14-7 after two quarters. Both teams a little tentative, but the Rangers managed to score twice, with Groveport shooting themselves in the foot with penalties, mostly IP on the O-...

Re: WK2 0-1 Groveport Madison @ 0-1 Hamilton Township

Interesting matchup. How do the HT faithful feel about this one? I'm a lot more nervous about Groveport this year than I was last year. The Cruisers had a punishing offense, but they also had several key turnovers, and we managed to put together a dramatic final drive for the winning score. They'll...

Re: Yardage Differential is astonishing!!

Hence, the expression "bend, don't break". :D Yes, it's possible to see weird stats like that. More likely to happen when losing team has several long drives without scoring (missed FG, interception, fumble, etc), and the winning team has an even weaker offense (very short drives with punt...

Re: WK1 2018 Hamilton Township @ Granville

They played last year week 1 zunardo. They lit up our young D LOL - Thanks, Ny92. I guess the score last year was 52-14, but I must have blocked it out. Kinda strange not seeing your son on the field for the first time in a while, I hope he's doing well. Re: WK1 2018 Hamilton Township @ Granville

I'm not positive, but this might be the first time these teams have met. Could be a long night for HT. I've been reading a bit about Granville's senior Cameron Crouch, who threw for 15 TD's two years ago as a sophomore, and 24 TD's last year (and running for 5 more). Plus, Blue Aces RB Brandon Haley...

Re: Is there a correlation between having "older players" and success

With all due respect to Dr. Boose, I started all 3 boys in kindergarten at age 6. Absolutely no regrets. I don't believe I did an academic redshirt, I believe many other people cut their child's pre-school years by a year. Besides the academic benefits, it gave 1 additional year to save for college...

Re: Is there a correlation between having "older players" and success

There are a lot more factors to consider than just the hopefully increased physical maturity and athleticism of older high schoolers. This article touches on those: "Is it ever a good idea to hold your child back? The decision to delay registration to age 6, frequently called “academic red-shir...

Re: Hannan(WV) to take field this season with female head coach

Interesting. After Googling the subject, I had no idea there have already been at least 7 or 8 female head coaches in high school football across the country, going back at least to 2010 and probably earlier.

They've come a long way, baby!

it’s worked for him. So keep at it. 10-4. And I don't mean season results. Should all coaches try this out? It certainly may be appropriate for some programs. But, as someone said, realize that if you're going to live by the sword, your chances of dying by it go up also. Personally, I thi...

Re: "Hypothetical" new D1/D2 league south of Columbus

You're close GoBucks1047. I would leave New Albany out and put Hamilton Township in. HT regularly plays GM, CW and TV so it just makes sense from a rivalry, size and distance perspective. New Albany is a haul bro, even from Groveport(where I live). I can't imagine fighting through traffic down 270 ...

Put away all of these details that make football the spectacle it is and what are we left with? There are annual county fairs and the Ohio State Fair - take away all of the details that make the spectacles that they are , and what are you left with? A dog-and-pony show? No, no - it's the sum total ...

Re: Unique features of your team’s stadium

At Unioto there is nothing about the actual stadium however you park at high school and walk thru an underground tunnel that is under the road between the high school and stadium. It's been a while since I've been to a game there, maybe 15 years ago. When did they install the tunnel? And did fans j...
