Re: Burg B-Ball 08-09 Season
Chloe: In your opinion, why do you think kids transfer to Wheelersburg? Are you blaming Wheelersburg for this? Do you think they recruit these kids?

Re: Who is the toughest basketball coach in SE Ohio?
I can't believe Mike Hughes hasn't been mentioned. He was not an easy coach to play for. You either loved him or hated him. But, his record speaks for itself also. He has coached at 4 different schools (South Point, Wheelersburg, Green, and South Webster Girls), and he led each team to an undefeated...

Re: SOC I All-Time Team
1. Brett Roberts from South Webster.......I believe he made it to AAA with Twins.
2. John Hunt from Green........Played for Ohio U. and drafted in 5th round by White Sox.
3. Renfroe from Symmes Valley.....they weren't in SOC when he played, but played in Red Sox organization.

Re: M.O.V. Flamin' Fury 14u
A "Sunday" pitcher is an "Ace" pitcher. Anyone can pitch in pool play games (Friday and Saturday), but Sunday is when you play for keeps and use your best pitchers. That is when you play elimination games. Why all of the sarcastic remarks in your post?

Re: Green Basketball
Jumper, who is the new jv coach? Also, you seem to be a very big fan of Coach Kitchen. What has he done to impress you so much. Seems like you are sold on him already. I will wait to make an opinion of my own. It's not that I have a bad opinion of him, but I guess you could say I am going to have an...

Re: Who has or had the best old gyms?
Jumper, I hope you are right about Coach Kitchen. Like I said before, it would be great to see them win 15 - 18 games a year and be in the hunt for the SOC year after year like it used to be. It doesn't always have to take "years" to turn a program around. Look what Hughes did and what &qu...

Re: Try-outs/parent meeting for 14u Buckeye Elite
I hear this u12 team is very talented. Good to see a true Scioto County team that is so well represented by all the schools. It is great to see all of this talent on one team..................... as opposed to being spread out over 2 or 3 teams. Good luck Buckeye Elite!!!

As a former player for Coach Hughes, I totally agree. He is a winner.

Re: Who has or had the best old gyms?
Panther, I know that was the year of the coaching change but it took a couple of years to really start winning on a consistant basis. I think Bobby was right, it probably was about 1985. Anyway, it would be great to see it get back to that again. I hope the new coach can have some success, but I kin...

Re: Who has or had the best old gyms?
I would have to go with Green. Back in the day with all of the signs.........you could hardly see the walls. I think they were one of the first to do that. Also, I would love to see their winning percentage in that gym from about 1988 - 1998. It was one of the toughest places to go into and win. It ...
