Re: Amy Hughes Back At Ironton?

IMO,It is not a good idea to have admin. coaching They took on the whole well being of the school and students when they moved to admin.I also think to that all coaches should be teachers in the system, but sometimes jobs just aren't there.Guess its not a perfect situation

Re: Amy Hughes Back At Ironton?

Seems like she moves around a lot. I think, Rock Hill,Ironton,Chillicothe and now Portsmouth. Some good coaches stay put and build a program for years and some look for an opportunity when tallent is their.Just an opinion

Re: Manchester Greyounds (2009-2010)

Heard the JV coach is going to be the guy to get the job. They don't want to have to hire a teacher. Maybe thats who they want.

They have a board meeting tomorrow night. I am sure there will be some kind of decision made about the whole thing and what they are going to do. They need to hire before July 8th. Summer is blowing by. How long has Lockhart been coaching

Re: Amy Hughes Back At Ironton?

Graham has done a pretty good job. He hasn't hurt the program any. Amy had a lot of talent when she was there. Far more than Graham has had.

Re: Amy Hughes Back At Ironton?

I hear that the only job open in the system is that of the former assistant high school principal. That job hasn't been filled as far as I know. The basketbal job would have to be posted inside the system first

Re: Amy Hughes Back At Ironton?

From reading the paper Coach Graham has his basketball camp scheduled. I would think that if his job is open that he would not be conducting a camp. Has this job been posted at the school or open to the public for applicants? I think it is just wishful thinking on some peoples part that want a change.

Re: Ports. West coach resigns

I believe that is a done deal.Coach Bradford will be a good fit for West as a coach and teacher. He is a home town boy and has done a good job at East. I think he was the only one interviewed. Also heard that Shoemaker could be next at Minford real soon.

Re: Ports. West coach resigns

There is definitely a big hold up at West or has anyone actually applied. That could be the problem.I don't think there is a lot of worry about it on the west side from the administration

Re: Who is the best shooter ever played for your High School?

From Ironton I would have to say in the 50's Ralph Snead,Phil Rice in the late 60's,Charlie Kitchen early 70's,Ty Barnes in the 80's and Dennis Gagai.2000's. Dennis may have been the only one with the 3 pt. line, possibly Barnes. All great shooters.
