Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
Basing varsity success on Jr. high success is a very, very tricky business. Let's face it, the best recipe to be the greatest jr. high coach ever is to just get your best athlete the ball on a toss sweep and hope that he breaks a big run. It's the same recipe in those "biddy leagues". At t...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
If he didn't play last year he would be eligible right now. King was a horse on the line. It only took you 30 years to get a thousand yard running back not sure I would brag about that. You are either the single dumbest person on the planet, or else know nothing about the PVC. A quick google search...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
Hope Trail knows that a transfer can't play until week 6. What if the transfer didn't play football last year? Would not he/she be eligible to play in week one? Trail has always been weak in the trenches. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Trail have it's first sophomore running ba...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
I know that Trail plays a decent non-conference schedule: Ridgewood, Meadowbook, and River are on their schedule. All three teams should be solid.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
Seminoles have Hooper and Alleman coming back? Supposedly lose two seniors from the O-line?? FF should be loaded and the pre-season pick for the PVC title. Obviously everyone knows about Caldwell (losing all of those seniors and their Head Coach), so it could turn any number of ways. Trail does retu...

Re: Off-Season Coaching Changes
There is nothing wrong with the wing-t offense as such, so long as a team has the athletes to run that style. Where most programs run into trouble is with the wing backs or linemen not having the size necessary to pull off some of the blocking schemes, power for example. I have not seen the teams be...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2016
1: Fort Frye - lots coming back.
2-3: Caldwell or Trail - a coin toss. Caldwell loses a lot, Trail returns a lot.
4: MC - Never count Jay out.
5: Shenandoah - Maybe a year away?
6. Frontier - Not sure, but it sounds like they lose a lot.

Re: What Makes a "Strong/Good" Youth Program?
Having kids play flag football and enjoying the game, rather than being subjected to "coaches" who run the program like it's the NFL. Nothing wrong with starting tackle football in 7th grade.

Re: Off-Season Coaching Changes
Any PVC information? I heard Circosta is in for "another two years" - and I hope that is the case for he is truly one of the best in the business. Also have heard a few rumors about Caldwell and Buckeye Trail.
