Very true.
I haven't seen them much, but based on what I have been told it hasn't been pleasant.
It will come down to whether Valley wants to share the sugar and play as a unit. If they do, they go to Athens Sunday with a 3rd shot at Minford. If they don't, its baseball season.

Re: Local Job Openings/Opportunities
Former Florida State and Detroit Lion linebacker, Buster Davis was at the basketball game last night.
What that means, I have no clue. I was just there.

Re: Shot Clock?
You couldn't of said it any better. If I'm a coach and the best chance of beating this time is to control the tempo and limit their offensive possessions then I'm going to run my offense and run my offense until I get what I want. Like you said, come out and guard. If you sit back and let teams do ...

Re: Shot Clock?
Very rarely can you watch a full college game without some type of shot clock issue (not running, didn't reset, etc) where they don't have to go to a monitor. That is for games played in huge arenas, with TV cameras, with clocks ran by people that have been trained, and referees making $3,300+ a gam...

Re: Shot Clock?
No. Just no.
There is already enough bitching about officiating as it is. Adding this will make it worse.
Then you have to find someone to run the shot clock that has a clue. It is hard enough to find people skilled enough to run the clock.

Re: D3 Tournament Thread
IMO, it was no coincidence that South Point, Fairland, and Portsmouth were all voted into the same district sub-bracket. Nobody outside the OVC wants to face any of those squads in the early rounds. There are way too many variables in this to make that happen. In the old set up with 3 sectional, yo...

Re: Fan Behavior At Games…Action Needs Taken
I think everyone is in agreement that fans get carried away. Sure, some complaining about calls is going to happen every game. The refs are human and they make mistakes too. The problem is when they take it too far and cross the line. Following the refs to their area is unacceptable at any level. T...

Re: Notre Dame looking for new head coach…
What’s interesting to me, if it’s the same kid? Seeing the post on loosing a player due to the family not being happy. This is such so disrespectful to all the other players on Notre dame team. Again, remember he was welcome back with open arms after he was going to transferred out last year! He wa...

Re: SOC II - Mid Season
Minfords to lose like Waverly last year. 2 game lead at the midway break. If Valley can beat Minford they need somebody else to beat the Falcons for a shared title - and that’s not them losing another game. Very strange Valley losing to Eastern and then Waverly beating Eastern. Wheelersburg and Sou...

League Standings 8-0 Minford 6-2 Valley 3-2 Northwest 4-3 South Webster 4-3 Wheelersburg 3-5 West 3-6 Eastern Pike 2-5 Oak Hill 1-7 Waverly These are off of MaxPreps so they could be off. If anything needs fixed let me know and I'll edit it. Who has Eastern already played twice? I think round two s...

Re: Tuesday,1/03/23 games and scores
ND might win the league but I think they'll lose one or two league games this year. It is still a tough and deep league. Most likely, they will lose a couple road games. They play much better at home than they do on the road. As good as those ND post players are they don't run the floor that well. ...

Re: Waverly has left the building!
I got word of this yesterday by someone that I feel would know so it looks like its a real possibility. You have to feel like the FAC will want an 8th team before they let Waverly join. A 7 team league is rough with open weeks in football and open Friday nights in boys basketball. I would think Unio...

Southeastern won by about 20.
I had a great view, but can't remember the final.

Very dangerous team with their size and athleticism. Good to see Ethan White back out. Also good to see Barnes out. Anxious to see how Felder is. Obviously a great athlete, anyone know if he played at Huntington last year? Lightning quick on the football field so I'd imagine he'll be a big help. Te...

Re: SOC (Basketball) going to 3 (6 team) divisions (2023-24)
Solid move for all involved. I do feel like this should be flexible by sport. Anyone paying attention knows that ND should not be playing those small schools in any girls sport at this point. Honestly, they should be with the big dogs in girls sports and adjust accordingly. They will not play a full...

Re: OVC & SOC Merge Talk
Just from the outside looking in.... It sure looks like the smallest of the small SOC schools got together and said "we don't want to go to South Gallia....Let's get them in the middle group. And they got that done. I am sure Valley and Webster are very happy with how things worked out. ND (esp...

I know the Carter name is popular in Portsmouth, does anyone know who Hayven's parents are? She is Abby and DJ's to my knowledge. With all of this success why is there no JV team and why are there only 6 girls total in the whole JH playing basketball?
