Re: Northwest Mohawks 2011 - 2012

I know they have a kid cory burnworth about 6'4 or 6'5 he's very raw. Good at grabbing boards and working inside, his dribbling skills need work along with his shot, but I think if he comes full circle in all areas he could be a pretty solid player

Yahoo! Sports is extremely credible. Wetzel and his crew have been doing research on this for months. Yahoo! does incredible investigative reporting.

That's a joke right? please oh please tell me that's a joke

Re: Crowds at the games

Northwest brought a huge, loud crowd to Waverly against Paint Valley. Couldn't stop watching them. Very impressive! I was part of that crowd, great great crowd. Never realized how crazy we all were until I saw the paint valley fans with the deer in the headlights look at all of us either in utter a...

Re: Portsmouth vs. Northwest -- 3/5 @ 9:15PM @ Convo

Portsmouth has the greater talent, however over the past 5 or so years Northwest has had some quality wins over Portsmouth teams with better talent, NW usually has a solid game plan for the Trojans....im hoping my Mohawks can pull it off. I do know the place will be loud from what I can see on this ...

Re: SOC II Junior Varsity Teams

Shoot I would love it if somebody said I played like Kayla Cook, A D1 player on a big stage, somebody who goes 100% all the time, great shot, great D, great attitude....im sensing some sexism out of some posters (and don't tell me "duuuur boys are just naturally more athletic and no girl can co...

Re: Teams That Have Deceiving Records

I have to say Northwest, losing 90% of their offense last year they are holding up nicely with an 8-9 (maybe 7-9) record and picking off a few top tier teams just like I said they would in an earlier post. Not all of the talent but smart well coached players that have been able to help shape and mol...

Is this the most balanced year the SOC 2 has had?

It seems like this year anybody can beat anybody on any given night. I know people say that is true about the sport of basketball in general but this year in particular it seems to me all the teams are near the same level on every aspect of the game....what do you think?

Re: Officiating and the treatment they get in Southern Ohio

Here's my 2 cents......players should play, fouls being called or not bi**ing to the ref won't help, coaches should coach if they don't agree with the call voice the opinion and move on and continue to coach, fans should shut up and watch, sure voice your opinion on a bad call but don't intentionall...

Northwest played hard, but there size is hurting them, even though Crabtree spanked all of Waverly's bigs tn. They just came up short in the end.

This is "FAR" from the biggest but it's just a recent one that people still remember and was from a local area, and that is Northwest over Oak Hill back in the 07-08 season.

Pride?

This could be put on any forum but since basketball is the most active right now I will use it. Do you believe that pride for ones school is a thing of the past? I can think of examples on both sides winning schools and losing schools where the players just do not have pride for their school. For pe...

I think there are many coaches who deserve accolades in our area. But what interests me most are the coaching techniques used by some of the greats. Therefore, I have compiled a list of the top 5. This list is not exhaustive, but simply a thumbnail of some techniques and antics used by our heroes. ...

Re: Top 5 Coaches in Southern Ohio

If you coach varsity you desreve credit, I help assist for 8'th grade girls and that can be difficult, the pressures of being a mens varsity coach has to be tough.....They all deserve some form of credit, true some are better then others but if you have never tried coaching you can't understand how ...
