Re: Historic SEOAL Stadiums
Point Pleasant was at Sanders Field, not Saunders. Also, we (media) always referenced the rv place as Raider Field there in Cheshire. May not be entirely accurate, but that was the name given to us by coaches at the time. Like this project idea. Always good to learn about history. I'll check on midd...

Best NBA coach ever?
My colleague and I had a friendly discussion at work tonight about MJ and LBJ, which later turned into another friendly about the best NBA coach of all time. No disrespect meant to Red, but he wasn't part of the discussion. My colleague says Phil Jackson with his 11 titles, and I say it is Pat Riley...

Re: Apparently nobody cares about the NBA Draft, so who goes
Surprised by the Bennett pick, but he does have some entertaining highlight videos for a one-and-done.
Definitely not LeBron, but there seems to be some options with this pick.
A good haul for Cleveland overall. But Tribe is right, the Cavs still need a small forward.

Re: Apparently nobody cares about the NBA Draft, so who goes
I think the Cavs will select Otto Porter out of G-town. If memory serves me right, it has been 10 years since they last addressed the small forward position. They've had a huge hole there now for three years and really need to add some scoring on their frontline. He's 20 and he defends. The Cavs hav...

Kind of like a carnival.
Take your best shot and explain the pick.
The clock is ticking.
And it doesn't matter if the Cavs make the pick or trade it.

Re: Prayers for family of Jackson Kids who were found dead
Indeed. This was 2 blocks from where my family lives.
It has been a very tough day for many in Jackson, and I'm positive that all of the community is praying for the family and friends of the victims.
May The Lord be with them throughout this troubling time.

Now I understand why you whine every time you disagree with something.
I also understand now why you are still paying to get into sporting events instead of being paid for your insight.

Are you a big fan of Terrell Owens and A-Rod?
Can't deny the talent, right?

Re: NBA Finals Heat vs Spurs
As far as Shane Battier goes there are probably 30-40 guys in the league that could have played his offensive role. Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard, and Gary Neal all did better jobs as spot up shooters and I see no one giving Tim flack for choking away a title despite an abundance of help. All the veno...

Re: NBA Finals Heat vs Spurs
Tony Parker was the larger threat in this series. If Parker was a bigger threat in this series than Duncan, how come he wasn't on the floor in crunch time of Game 7? LeBum had a remarkable series and was truly unstoppable on the offensive end, but his teammates - Battier in particular - helped him ...

Re: NBA Finals Heat vs Spurs
Miami's Big 3 never won a title until Shane Battier came to town. Maybe they should be called the Big 4. Battier is the new leader in Duke history with 2 NBA championship rings, which goes with a national title and college player of the year award in 2001. Plus, he's never lost in the NBA Finals - ...

Re: 2012-13 AP ALL SOUTHEAST DISTRICT TEAMS
Sure. There are a few from each of the past 4 or 5 seasons that I could mention but I will just bring up two for fear of sounding as though I am choking on sour grapes. Blake Justice being named co-player of the year with Copley from Chesapeake(14ppg/and was the second best player on his own team) ...

Re: 2012-13 AP ALL SOUTHEAST DISTRICT TEAMS
Justice made 1st team on the Coaches' List. Not sure on who's I would take more seriously, maybe a mix of both? It seems like the coaches list always looks a little better, which is a shame considering most of the all-state selections/awards are based on the AP. The D-14 coaches list is exactly hal...

Re: AP District Honors
IMO, and we all know what those are like; I was a little disappointed that only 2 TVC D4 players made first team selection. Especially since 3 of the TVC teams made it to a district final, while the other schools didn't. And in comparison to the boys selections, seems like more boys make first team...

Re: State rankings??
I92, That is probably exactly what happened. This is the reason the AP poll is crap. Most of the pollsters have never seen 90% of the teams and just vote by the team's records in their region of the state. I've never given any credibility to the AP polls in any sport. What amazes me is how members ...

Re: State rankings??
Couple of things, without getting too crazy. How do you take opinions out of polls? AP poll, Presidential poll, etc., are based on people's opinions. Football has six divisions to rank 60 teams, basketball has four divisions to rank 40 teams. The same process is used in both, but basketball is harde...
