Re: Notre Dame loses star Wide Receiver Michael Floyd

I feel the same way you do about going off subject, but I am not buying that ND produces a superior student because they accept 15,000 less students. The ACT score and overall GPA of the average student at UM is higher then that at ND , only difference, one only takes a few thousand. The informatio...

Re: Top senior in soc1

[quote="rockyraccoon"]I agree RX, while it is a big part of the game to have knowledge of what is going on around you and creating open space around you, after you create that space you have to do something when you receive the ball, be it an assist or a shot, dribble or pass. If you don't...

Re: Top senior in soc1

What constitutes a best player isn't just the amount of goals, assists, or saves. Nor is it their physical size or passion of the game. Being able to dribble the ball around numerous opposition or having a hard strike is merely a fraction of what it takes. In the SOC those aspects may work, but at ...

Re: district seedings

As Flyersoccer posted above, St. Joseph has no complaints with the outcome of the seeding meeting, and the no-show was simply due to having the time confused with the next meeting on the 25th. Looking forward to good soccer from all teams in the tourney.

Re: Congrats to Ironton St Joe!!!

I will be sure to tell all my friends, not that St. Joe is number 1, but because I am now King of England. In all honesty, D4 is week . They will make the regionals and then get beat by Newark Catholic or someone else of their caliber. Happens every year. One would expect the king of England to pos...

BWH; don't know if the pun was intended, but "common" is an apt term for this practice.

Re: Thing you would tell a Senior about going to college

As the legendary hoops coach Bobby Finstock said: "Never get less than twelve hours sleep. Never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady who's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body."

Re: Guitar

I found these at a decent price range. Are any of these good guitars? Remember I know nothing. m The Yamahas and probably the Epiphones are good choices on this list of entry level instruments. For a quick education, Google "buying acoustic guitar" or "how to buy an acoustic guitar&q...

Re: Guitar

Buy the very best guitar you can afford. A well built, easy-to-play instrument speeds up the learning process. You will put in more hours practicing if the guitar sounds good and is easy on your fretting hand. Plus, if you decide guitar is not your thing, a good guitar will have higher re-sale value...

Re: St. Joe Soccer

St. Joseph is definately at a disadvantage according to size but they do have the advantage of not having four other sports to compete against for players either. It would be all in how you look at it. Applying this logic, the Flyers' 2008 opponents average male enrollment is 13.5 times greater tha...

Re: St. Joe Soccer

I have no idea how many kids go to Minford..... why does that matter ? You could have a school with a thousand kids and it's possible that none of them could be good at soccer. On the other hand, you could have a school with just a hundred kids, practice hard, and have a good soccer team. I'm not s...

A VERY clean game. Cannot say enough about the high level of sportsmanship displayed by Valley during and after the game.

Wow...should have taken the jealous excuse when it was offered. Now all that's left is poor sportsmanship, lack of class, or low self-esteem.
