Re: Infield Sand
We are running sand and have done about 3 fields thus far. If you need any, let me know. My office number is (304) 675-7516. If possible, try to plan around the rains.

Re: Infield Sand
I am sorry for not posting my number. I am not trying to use this forum as an advertising venue. The reason I post is that I know how difficult this sand is to locate and when you find it, the cost is prohibitive. I did manage to get the stripping crew to stockpile about 800-1000 tons of the raw mat...

Re: Infield Sand
We are starting to get inquiries for the 2011 season and will be screening soon. As stated, I have a limited amount but I did get some additional raw material in stockpile. Unless we run into some more, this will be it. PM me if I can help.

I was under the impression that at one time, Vinton County was way ahead of the rest.

Re: What does Free Lunch have to do with athletics?
Free and reduced lunch numbers are one of the main factors used to determine state-aid to districts in Ohio. It is actually advantageous for a district to have a high percentage from the administration's standpoint. Once they get to a certain point, some actually shoot for 100%. ie: The higher the n...

Infield sand
The dry weather is allowing us to run some infield mix for fall repairs. We have mined through the entire area that contained the raw material that we use to make the sand. We are currently running about 250 tons for two fields in WV. We do have a limited amount of raw material in stockpile (probabl...

Re: Coaches Salaries
Most coaching supplementals are in the range mentioned. Sometimes, to sweeten the pot, supplementals are stacked to allow higher salaries. For example: a head coach gets seperate contracts for coaching, open gym, weight room, partial AD, etc. I am not sure how much boosters can donate towards salary...

Re: Infield mix
Thank you Viking, I appreciate the help. His school is Symmes Valley and he was great to work with. The Indian Summer is still making it possible to screen although I posted earlier that we were done. If you need anything, let me know. As long as the rains hold off, we will be able to make infield m...

Re: Infield mix
I received no responses regarding any further need for sand this year. We are shutting down production of this particular product with the filling of our existing order. If anyone anticipates a need in the Spring, please let me know at your earliest convenience. We just supplied material to Oak Hill...

Infield mix
This Springs sand run was successful, due mostly to the people on this forum. We are going to make a Fall run for a local customer who has requested material. The weather will give us a very small window of opportunity before we can no longer run infield mix this year. If anyone needs material for F...

Re: River Valley needs coach
I thought that I understood that the coach from last year would be there again. He was the best that they have had in my memory. If he is returning and can get the boys out, I think that he will see steady improvement.

Infield Sand
The response to our infield sand was larger than expected. We are going to make the material again this week to resupply some of the people who reordered. This should be our last run for the year or at least until Fall. The equipment is needed elsewhere to run material for previous commitments. If y...

Recently there was a post regarding the importance of good coaching versus great players. I think that Norm has answered the question over his career. Great job to the coach and his players.

Infield sand available for a short time
We are in the construction aggregates business and every year I get numerous calls for infield material. We have made it in the past with limited success but I have never been satisfied with the material. This past year we uncovered a limited supply of a material similar to what used to be called &q...

Re: coal grove at river valley
I have only had the chance to go to one other game this season but I can tell you that this one was worth the $5.00 admission fee. Other than the 3rd quarter, RV played a heads up game, ran the entire night and there was no greed on the floor. As a side-bar, McAvena saw the floor very well throughou...

Re: Coach Grimm of Meigs
I feel that Meigs has taken the steps necessary to improve not only their baseball but all of the programs in the system. I have had the opportunity to work with Coach Grimm as a vendor and find him to be very professional and legitimately concerned about every aspect of his program. I have also wor...
