Re: WK 11: Gallia Academy (9-1) @ Waverly (8-2)

I saw Armstrong over the weekend, he didn't seem to think the coaches were going to let him play. Said he wants to and thinks he can, but the coaches aren't going to put him at risk to get hurt worse. Pretty big deal when coaches put a kids health above putting your team in the best position to win...

Re: Can Joe Burrow Do It?

I was working the PA microphone when Athens faced Springfield Shawnee in the playoffs in 2012. Burrow was the most unique QB I'd ever seen, primarily because he appeared to have zero tension in his body every time he dropped back in the pocket. Impressive performance that day. Best of luck to the k...

Re: WK5 Portsmouth (4-0) @ Gallia Academy (4-0)

Gallia Academy will have a big night. Could see a running clock in this one. I expect to see them open up the passing game.

Re: WK9 Gallia Academy (0-8) @ Ironton (5-3)

Let me give you my opinion coming from a spectators stand point. I have watched the boys in blue for several years, the past few years there is no denying that the numbers are down, size is down, speed is down, and strength is down. There are kids in that school that could possibly help out the team...

Re: OVC 2017

We're only six months away. What's everyone's take on the OVC this year? Last year was filled with parody, upsets, pitching showcases, and offensive outbursts. We should see more of the same this season. Gallia Academy: won the OVC in its inaugural season. Return some young pieces but lose the best...

Re: Gallia Academy @ Portsmouth

Even more than just being down, the injury bug hit the Devils pretty hard last week. Several kids out for season. Not flaky injuries either, legitimate surgery needing injuries. Its like poring salt in the wound at this point. As my username state, I'll bleed blue forever, but right now is a very t...

Re: Week 3 (0-2) Gallia Academy @ Point Pleasant

Gallia improved a lot in a weeks time. Blue's defense appeared to have made steps in the right direction. From the stands it just looked like size and strength couldn't compare to what Meigs or RV brought to the table. As we all know Point has had some very dominating teams in the last few years. I...

Re: WK2 River Valley (1-0) @ Gallia Academy (0-1)

I want to rip my heart out for even posting this statement. RV by 20+ will be the end result. I have been a Blue Devil for years, been gone for a while, and have since been back for several years.......the community needs to boys in blue to find some heart. I think the kids are beat before stepping ...

Re: WK 1 Meigs @ Gallia Academy

I was told this morning that a kid went down last night with some sort of serious leg injury last night at practice for the Blue Devils. If that is true, wishing a speedy recovery to him.

Re: Sectional Tournament Seeds

That is a very true statement. Money drives decision making. Just looking at Gallia Academy, when the new school was built in 2009, the Eastman's donated money for the dugouts and general basics of the facility. But the hitting building, and all other improvments/upkeep of the complex is solely due ...

Re: OVC

Tonight is a big game for the boys from the French City. GA will be traveling to Rock hill tonight in hopes of earning the OVC crown. It has been an up and down year for the Blue, would love to see the boys get this one. Those seniors have put in the work and deserve a conference title. Let's hope t...

Re: OVC

This comment is a bit off topic, but it sure would be nice if there was a conference website. Not just for baseball. But an OVC site that kept up to date records and standing. Additionally, could post links to the local newspaper write ups. If I had even the slightest clue how to even start that pro...

Re: OVC

Anyone still playing with the bad weather that swept through the area last night?

I am told Gallia Academy will still be playing, as long as there is no additional rainfall.

Re: OVC

Oddly enough I am going to disagree with both of you. The blue devils are neither a good nor bad hitting team. I have not seen 1-9 hit in the same game. I have seen 1-4 hit well in a game, I have seen 5-9 hit well in a game, but never in the same game. The Blue Devil pitching staff is not dominant b...
