Re: What SE-Ohio teams play up concerning their Non-League games

Actually you brought up a state title in any sport and quite a few High Schools around the area have had a lot more success than your adopted Chillicothe Chillicothe in the various state tournaments. Nice try to deflect though. I'm sure you'll be editing your post like you typically do after exposur...

Re: What SE-Ohio teams play up concerning their Non-League games

Army, Historically Chillicothe Chillicothe has been by far the largest school in the region and has ONE state title to its credit in all sports - earned this past season. So I would not come on here and brag about the largest school traditionally in this area having one state title in all sports. Th...

Re: What SE-Ohio teams play up concerning their Non-League games

Army, why don't you tell Ironton, Portsmouth, Sheridan and DeSales they are cream puffs. Gallipolis has played some good games. A team is also going to look out for itself and schedule a win or two, much like your Chillicothe Chillicothe basketball team playing 3-16 Cols. East and Waverly this year....

Re: What SE-Ohio teams play up concerning their Non-League games

Army also forgets to note that for the majority of the last 10-15 years, Chillicothe Chillicothe has been D2 in football and D1 in basketball. Given their school size, they should have been playing those OCC schools. They were the same size or close to it. Now since Chillicothe Chillicothe has lost ...

Re: What SE-Ohio teams play up concerning their Non-League games

Another example of a good rivalry are Circleville's games with Washington CH and Miami Trace. Even though Circleville is not in the SCOL any longer, they have continued to play these rivals non-league in nearly every sport and they're good games.

Re: What SE-Ohio teams play up concerning their Non-League games

Rivalries don't exactly grow on trees and it sounds like Gallipolis is very fortunate to have some good games with the Point and Athens. They should keep them and don't give a crap what anyone says about it. Logan Elm has good rivalries with Amanda (league), Circleville (league), Westfall (non-leagu...

Re: What SE-Ohio teams play up concerning their Non-League games

It's not always about playing 'up' Army, it is about playing quality of competition. You could play 'up' and schedule three D1 Columbus City League schools for football, and if they aren't named Brookhaven or Beechcroft, could beat the crap out of them since City League ball is typically subpar over...

Re: SE-Ohio Teams who play against OCC Teams

BTW...Army, you are kind of hard to figure out too. You are an alum of Wellston but root for Chillicothe Chillicothe? Let's examine some of these basketball schools a little more closely since you posted it all. Chillicothe Chillicothe Cavaliers North College Hill is a fantastic game. Logan Elm is a...

Re: SE-Ohio Teams who play against OCC Teams

Actually Army, you were the one to bring up basketball and I'm just answering your post. In football, DIII Logan Elm is playing two Division II schools this year, DIV regional champion Westfall, and DIV regional contender Amanda-Clearcreek. LHS fan, I agree, from now on it's the Chillicothe Chillico...

Re: SE-Ohio Teams who play against OCC Teams

Logan Elm plays two Division II teams this season. How many does Chillicothe play? Logan Elm has played teams from the OCC and the CCL - Central Catholic League in basketball before. More games, more opportunities. This season LE is playing Harvest Prep, a state contender over the past several years...

Re: SE-Ohio Teams who play against OCC Teams

Army, I call them as I see them, regardless of which school it is. Chillicothe had an excellent basketball team last year and I gave them the proper credit they deserve. Logan Elm had a very, very good basketball team last year and I gave them the proper credit they deserve. Greenfield has an outsta...

Re: SE-Ohio Teams who play against OCC Teams

Army does the same thing with locals schools like Albany Alexander, McArthur Vinton County, Circleville Logan Elm, etc. How about we just stick to proper school name?

D2 power poll

Who are the five best teams in the district?

1. Chillicothe - defending state champs
2. Logan Elm - talk has started about their chances
3. Greenfield - always a good team
4. Warren - always competitive
5. Vinton County/Washington CH - both lost a lot.

Re: Warren Local Basketball 2008-2009

The guard for Logan Elm came from Teays Valley - Brandon Amann. He can stroke it from about anywhere on the court. I'd say he might be a shade better than Tim Congrove, but both are very nice players. He'll also make Congrove better because teams will have to honor two big threats from the court and...
