Re: Logan/Circleville scrimmage

Watched half of the first teams going at it. Logan's first team drove down to about the Circleville 20 on one drive, and looked sharp passing and running the ball. Circleville held and got the ball back on downs. Logan's defense looked good. Some general things to work on for both teams - a few fumb...

Keyser, thanks for the kind thought and offer. I have a couple of intermediate offers but chasing something with a bit more substance with these college bills that have a Christmas start date. We'll see how it goes.

Re: Week one what game(s) will you take in

Covering....not sure yet. We'll see if I can land a job. If I'm free it'll be Teays Valley at Westfall Friday and Amanda at Newark Catholic Saturday.

Hard to believe the season is just three weeks away.

Re: Logan/Circleville scrimmage

Let me simplify those directions a bit for fans of the purple: When you come into Circleville on 22 West, turn right at the first traffic light which is Nicholas Drive. There is a Valero gas station at the intersection. Proceed on Nicholas Dr. to the first traffic light which is Clark Drive and make...

Re: South Central Ohio League Possible Expansion?

A lot of it sounds like talk. I would not be surprised if the SCOL is looking for a neighorbing district to become its eighth member so they can have balance scheduling. I really don't see MSL schools giving up the Buckeye Division, which makes even more sense today in high gas prices, in the next f...

Re: What SE Ohio county has the best football teams???

Not the most successful but Pickaway County should be in the top half: Playoff appearances this decade: Westfall - 2007 (regional champs), 2006 (regional semifinalist), 2005 (regional semifinalist), 2004, 2003. Circleville - 2007 (regional semifinalist), 2006, 2004, 2002. Logan Elm - 2004, 2001, 2000.

Re: Need input for this years chicken_coop's TOP 10....

Using the 70-23 model for southeast Ohio and not technically district membership:

In no order some teams I'd consider:

Wheelersburg
Ironton
Piketon
Logan
Lancaster
Amanda
Jackson
Nelsonville
Chillicothe
Circleville

Two exclusions to 70-23 rule, but both SE district members:

Westfall
Miami Trace

Doesn't Alexander handle putting that December classic together?

Logan Elm and Fairland are scheduled to play in the 730pm game this season.

I'm sure we'll hear some other names sprinkled in there besides the three returnees for Cain to work the ball to. Wonder if Near or Smith will factor in?

Re: Dustin Ford BACK in SEOPs Land ....

OU is starting to put some good pieces in place with Solich in football and now Groce and company in basketball. There is no reason why OU can't have one of the better football and basketball programs in the MAC.

Re: West Jefferson 7 0n 7

I don't put much on a 7 on 7. It's nice to work on routes and getting familar with your target, but beyond that have little use. Let's get the players in pressure situations in the second scrimmage and see how the lines do.

Re: Marietta - The next to leave the SEOAL ??

You'd rather have an even number of teams in a league than an odd number. Having a 'league bye' during the latter weeks is not the easiest game to fill.

Re: Marietta - The next to leave the SEOAL ??

Don't see the SEOAL telling Logan to go away after being a long-time staple in the league. If Logan did find itself in an interesting position, the two best options for the Chieftains would probably be the OCC or MSL, whichever had openings.

Re: Charging to park

Don't think parking charges affect the solid fill-in-the-blank team fans or even diehard HS football fans. If they have the money, they will be at their game or a game thar appeals to one of the diehards that does not follow a particular HS. Where the charge does have an affect, along with items lik...

Re: Charging to park

Disagree about the home games because the home team makes more money - programs, tickets (home fans buying, get slice from OHSAA), concessions, etc. than a neutral school does (they don't get the home tickets). But I can understand why the charge in the economic times but it adds to the cost and mig...

Re: Charging to park

I personally disagree about charging to park at a game, especially when it's a public high school and we're paying for the lot as a taxpayer. But with the economics as they are, I can understand the reasoning. . I went to a playoff game last year where the venue did not charge to park because they w...
