Re: Oak Hill Football 2011
Ironmen44 you should understand the situation before you are so sarcastic. First, none of the varsity assistants are returning. One is going northwest with phillips, two are not coaching this year, and one has been offered another job. I have been told by a coach in oak hill that they had some good ...

Re: A Theory about the Future of Football in Athens County
If HB 5 survives a referendum vote by the people, there won't be any senority in school districts. They could name either coach head coach. Don't think coach Boston would have too much to worry about.

Re: Oak Hill Football 2011
Talked to one of Phillips' assistants two weeks ago. He told me one coach is going to St. Marys. The others were not coaching next year. Coach Slone is going to watch his son play college football. The other two will not be in oak hill next year. I think that is the biggest problem for the new coach...

Re: Oak Hill Football 2011
Funny funny Charles . . . that would b a great staff. More like "staff infection"! Harrison was the loudest mouth with the least amount of knowledge. Maybe he will apply for sthe job. He knows it all.

Re: TVC-Ohio 2010
The three teams that I probably know the most about are the three that I think will make all the noise in the Ohio Division this year. With that said . . . NY, Alexander, and Athens will fight it out for the top 3 spots. I just think it will be fun to watch them play each other. The remaining three ...

Re: Wellston Job
Boilermaker, you are a faithful Wellston poster through thick and thin. I respect your passion for Wellston athletics. We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I know you could care less what I think. I have no dog in this hunt. I hope Coach Hutchinson wins 10 games this year, but I th...

Re: Wellston Job
You know what this reminds me of Blackjack? I helped my neighbor finish some work he was doing in his basement (sheetrock, wiring, fixtures, etc) last year. I mean just a little help. I know nothing about building except what he had me do to help. I have been wanting to add to my garage for 2 years ...

Re: Wellston Job
Flavor of the month BytheNumbers. Someone wants Rocky Road, then Tutti Frutti, and you end up with Vanilla. And Wellston posters, don't take this wrong. I am not saying that the coach you end up with will not be good for your program. I mean that if you want good coaches, your school board and admin...

Re: Oak Hill Football
Funny how people get on here and say Oak Hill this and that . . . but it doesn't seem to be any of their fans on here with their "keyboards" stuck out! They upgraded their schedule some. Week 9 is VERY hard to find. They picked up a good Div 3 team that was in the playoffs last year. The c...

Re: Wellston Job
I have just a little bit of info to share. Phillips DID NOT ask for a 6 year contract. He wanted to be paid for his years of teaching and the board only offered 10. I'm guessing he must have more than that. I guess the admin was also being wishy washy on the weightlifting class he wanted for the foo...

Re: oak hill vs. burg.?
I just know this about Oak Hill . . . EVERYONE thought they would lose 3 games or so last year. I thought they would lose to Trimble and Minford. After they beat Trimble the way they did (33-0 held Dyla to around 50 yds), I went down and watched them play Minford. Good team they could run the ball, ...

Re: Wellston Job
Boiler, I was wondering how many if any of the assistant coaches applied, and do you feel any of them are ready to be a head coach? You think one will be named the end of the month? I was told there is a board meeting the 11th of March. If they have more first round interviews this week, there is no...

Re: Wellston Job
I have zero inside info, but I can see, and I saw Coach Phillips in attendance at the Oak Hill girl's basketball game yesterday sitting with his assistant principal. Looks like he didn't interview. I was told that they interviewed 6 yesterday and that number would go to 3 for a final interview the m...
Re: SOC1 2010
Please correct me if I am wrong . . . but there were a few on here who predicted Oak Hill to finish 7-3 or 8-2 last year. Oh, and then to get manhandled in the playoffs by a "tougher, stronger, more battle tested" Coal Grove team. Trimble, Minford and East would beat them is what the wise ...

Re: oak hills head coach?
Sorry Blackjack, let me guess you can't be a coach. To make a statement that anyone could have coached that team is Oak Hill is a silly statement. Have more stronger words but won't use them on here. I coached high school football for 12 years and small college football for 3 years so I am speaking ...

Please correct me Dundas . . . who did Vinton County beat last year. They lost to Unioto right or wrong? Who did they beat? If they did win one, I stand corrected and apologize to the Vinton fans!!

Re: Vinton County Football Coach
Guess we will know after tomorrow night. I don't understand what the problem is . . . they hired a coach. Wait, they changed their minds! No coach named, now they will name one. What's going on in Vinton County? I would think it could be a pretty good job. Gonna take some serious work to change atti...

Re: Wellston Job
Funny comment a few posts back "BytheNumbers" when you said Wellston has all kinds of coaching candidates in the stands! Isn't that so true of all high schools. Boiler must be connected with the school or school board somehow to get all this info. Still saying Phillips won't take this job....

Re: Wellston Job
What are your thoughts on this Boiler? Do you think Wellston has put itself in a corner with Coach Phillips? What if he does interview but decides not to take the job? Do you like the idea of a Wellston alum getting this job. I would think it would be very good for the program. I will have to respec...

Re: Wellston Job
I was kinda wondering where our friend and Wellston man "Boilermaker" is at on this subject. If you're lurking around Boiler, what do you think about all of this? Would you like the idea of a Wellston guy getting a shot at this job? Obviously if a Wellston guy got this job he would stay a ...
