Re: Week 8 Player of the Week Nominations

Jackson's Morgan Dobbins for winning the Division II State Golf Championship.

(Last year Alexander's Volleyball Team was Week 12 Player of the Week, so it's obvious that the player of the week award is not just for football)

Jackson's Morgan Dobbins STATE CHAMPION

Dobbins shot a 3 over 75 on the second day, but that was enough to finish first by two strokes!

"The one advantage to look for is how much the home crowd helps the Wildcats and hurts the Tomcats."

The Trimble/Waterford series stands at 9-3.
Trimble has only lost once at Waterford (2007) making them 5-1 on the road in this series.

Earp, Sorry, don't have a roster. Had one in my hand at the only Trimble game that I was able to go to this season, and forgot to take it with me.

Re: Week 5 Trimble @ Fairland

Trimble and Fairland have played twice. The first match-up was a week one 21-0 victory for the Dragons in 1982, and the second contest was also a Dragon win this time 49-8 in the ninth week of the 1987 season.

Re: Trimble/Nelsonville-York Rivalry (History)

I don't have a copy of the Messenger article on the 1979 Trimble/Nelsonville-York game. Does anyone know who scored the Touchdown for the Buckeyes in this 7-6 game? I have the film and it looks like #6 Dave Boston Jr. but can anyone confirm this?

Re: Coaching

This may sound odd, but talk to any coaches you have the opportunity to, and when you do, spend more time listening then actually talking. Most coaches would prefer a young assistant who is willing to learn than one who immediately comes in and speaks their mind and gives off an impression of being ...

Re: Trimble/Nelsonville-York Rivalry (History)

www.trimblefooball.com/tomcatsbuckeyes I have write-ups done on games from 1970-1982 with the exception of the 1979 game which I don't have the Athens Messenger article for. It takes forever for me to upload a video on Youtube, but I have four that I need to put on. Still looking for some Buckeye pi...

Re: Any Coal Grove fans out there with old footage?

earp, right now, no, but the way things have worked for me over the past few years, is I'll have someone come up out the blue and hand me a box of films. '83 would have been Bolin's last year at Trimble and I already received one box from his era, you never know I may get another. If I do I'll send ...

Re: Trimble/Nelsonville-York Rivalry (History)

In the 1973 game, two players from Nelsonville-York scored, but their first names were not in the paper. An Eckels scored a safety and a Beach scored two touchdowns, does anyone know their first names?

Trimble/Nelsonville-York Rivalry (History)

As I mentioned on another topic I am in the process of creating a page off of trimblefootball.com for the Trimble/Nelsonville-York rivalry. I'm doing them in chronological order, and have to get some of my information tomorrow. What I need: help from Nelsonville-York fans. I would like pictures to a...

Orange and Brown: I can take some ribbing, but it's like prison (not that I've been) you have to at least throw a punch or two to keep people from walking on you. I'm starting up a page on trimblefootball.com for the Trimble Nelsonville-York rivalry, I'm using the top ten Trimble/Nelsonville-York ga...

First: Glouster has better internet than what I have, 44Kbps on dial-up which is mighty slow. I have heard some news out of G-town and find it strangely silent on here from the northern part of Athens County. Second: I played on Boston Field before it was name Boston Field, and I liked it better bef...

Re: Any Coal Grove fans out there with old footage?

The 1981 Trimble team was by far the best ever Tomcat team that finished with a losing record. They went 4-5-1 for Ed Bolin's only losing season at Trimble. On the schedule was obviously playoff qualifier Coal Grove and State Champion Nelsonville-York. Despite the losing record. The 'Cats outscored ...

Re: Favorite Stadiums/Atmospheres as a Player or Fan

Renovations and new stadiums seem to me to sterilize some of the atmosphere that just seem to exist in the older venues. As a player, opponents fields that had great atmosphere: Boston Field before the renovations, the old field at Vinton County with fans sitting on the bank in front of the school, ...
