Re: BEST 80'S FOOTBALL TEAMs
Blockcharge, the final for the Green/Trimble game was 43-22, and the game wasn't really that close. The Tomcats scored all of their points in the fourth quarter. If I remember, Green had three really good backs, but I think the fullback (#6?) stands out in my memory. Green jumped out early and had a...

Re: TVC-Hocking 2010
I apologize to some of my Coal Grove friends out there. Those that I have met have been all class, figures that cg22 wouldn't fit in to that bunch. Just remember that the last time Southern beat Trimble (1973) it was a game at Southern that the refs stopped with a little over 10:00 left in the fourt...

Re: TVC-Hocking 2010
cg 22 wants to point out that Trimble has a 2-6 playoff record, which pales in comparison to Coal Grove's, which I don't know, because Coal Grove hasn't won a playoff game in this millennium, but is better than the Tomcats who have gone 2-4 in the playoffs this decade. Keep bringing up that point, t...

Re: Unlikely Opponents Your Team Has Played
I would say the most unlikely team Trimble has ever played were the 1991 Portsmouth Trojans. Portsmouth I believe was Division II that year and made the playoffs, Trimble was DV and went 3-7. Portsmouth blew us out 46-6. The size differential at the time made them unlikely opponents. Going back into...

Re: TVC Talent 2010
Comparing apples to oranges here. Dyla is a quick scat back, where Prater is more of a power guy. Dyla's stats are hard to argue with Freshman year - 124 yards Sophomore year - 1,276 yards Junior year - 1,727 yards (school record) While Prater's stats (which I don't have) only reflect the fact that ...

If you wanted some historical pictures I have five from the 1978 Trimble/Warren game that I can send to you. Sorry, I don't know the player names, and numbers are real visible in them. Just reply back and let me know if you want me to send them.

Re: Trimble Dominance!
1974Viking, Former Trimble Coach Ed Bolin summed it up the best in 2000 when talking about coaching the Tomcats. "They were never the biggest, the fastest, or had the most talent, but they played with the most heart and the most courage". Good luck this season with your new coach. I had th...

Re: Vinton County Football Coach
I had the opportunity to talk to Coach Wolford last night and was a bit surpised to learn that he didn't apply for the job. Said that he had asked around about it, but ultimately wanted to spend more time with his family. That being said, I know Coach Burleson will have the Vikings in the weight roo...

Trimble in the last 10 years: A.J. Jenkins to Robby Jenkins in 2003 Jenkins threw for 2,177 yards and 17 TDs that year, 505 yards were to brother Robby as you can tell he spread the ball around to a number of good receivers that season, Travis McElfresh, Justin Jenkins, Zach Shust, Matt Christman, a...

With hard work and the good Lord willing he could approach 4,500. I would settle for him being the first Trimble back to rush for three straight seasons over 1,000 yards.

At the end of his Junior year, Dyla has 3,127 yards and is 257 yards away from becoming the school's all-time leading rusher. The record is held by the late Jeff McClelland at 3,383 who played from 1975-1978.

Re: Best Locker room Motivational Quotes
The limestone comes from that area of Virginia. There was a large quarry that was used to build most of the buildings on campus. Because it was used for the school, limestone from that area is known as "Hokie Stone"
