i think Coal Grove has the best freshman athlete around and that is Greg Bender and he is starting Varsity as a freshman and I am sure that he is going to be playing on Saturdays somewhere...He is being looked at right now by several college teams...he is just a really talented kid!!

just letting you guys know that Greg Bender from Coal Grove placed 1st in the shot put, 2nd in high jump (he did not even jump all year) and 2nd place is discus...coal grove is a div. 4 school but he competed in div. 2/3 and he also beat div. 1 schools in shot put and high jump...way to go Bender!!!...

I am sure that he is going to Nationals and to Charleston in June..I am excited to see how he does against kids across the country!!! I will keep everyone posted of his success...

Hey fellas: haven't been on in a while but just to let you know that Greg Bender from Coal Grove...yes..went to the state meet and he won the shot put with a throw of 51' 6" and he actually beat the D1 schools. He also placed 2nd in High Jump with 5'8" which beat the OVC record which was 5...
