Re: Who will win the SEOAL championship crown?
As in many high school programs the key to almost all teams success this year will be limiting walks and avoiding errors. Teams that don't allow for extra outs and avoid free passes for the opposition. In most programs you don't have a high strikeout pitcher who just sits everyone down with 3 strike...

Re: Who will win the SEOAL championship crown?
I still look for Zanesville to capture the North. The DOC will be on a South Division teams home field so that is just 1 game for either side. I don't have the same amount experience watching many South teams so it should be interesting. With the season coming just around the corner I want to wish A...

Re: Who will win the SEOAL championship crown?
I spoke with Cole's dad last night and it looks as though the surgery went well. He has to go through the ringer for the next 21 days and then it is on to hip number 2 on April 2nd. I expect Cole to fight through it and be back ready to compete for his senior campaign in football and baseball. Inter...

Re: Who will win the SEOAL championship crown?
The injury is known as FAI (may be wrong on the abbreviation)which has to do with him growing too fast and being to active for his joints to properly develop. He is out for 4 months due to having to have both hips operated on. I know he is going to make it back for his senior season of football and ...

Re: Who will win the SEOAL championship crown?
I would have to give the nod again to Zanesville!! They have 6 of the top 8 players returning of which 5 are juniors. This group knows the game and they know ech other!! Hudson Maxwell and Kaido will be tough to touch on the mound and Young should contribute as a plug in at 4 or 5 spots with his abi...

Re: Marietta @ Zanesville 2-10
The Devils were obvioiusly victim of coaches "not doing their homework" when it came to seeding in the Central District 42 team draw. We were given the #32 seed which was 2 spots below Logan who we beat twice. They play Marion Franklin February 24th in New Albany. The winner of that game w...

Re: Zanesville@Warren, 1/20
This Zanesville team isn't as good as teams of years past but they aren't all that bad. They hit a skid early in the year with a lack of experience and chemistry. However 5 of the 7 losses were to large Division 1 schools (not all great teams but one loss was by 3 on the road to last years D1 state ...

Re: SEOAL 2009 Predictions
We here at Zanesville haven't seen the Chillicothe on the diamond. What position(s) does Dawes play? If he is playing D1 next year he has to be an unreal talent but literally haven't ever seen or heard of any of his accolades on the diamond. I would guess that Zanesville has 2 D1 talents in their Ju...

Zanesville Blue Devils 09'
I know what I am expecting from this group of young men but was wondering what others in the know had to say. Should be a competetive league this year with ZHS being the top dawg out of the gates. We will see if that is where we end up.

Re: Zanesville
As for a reference to me about the PT comment from earlier I was referring to PT (Playing Time) not PG (point guard). Two completely different abbreviations and was not intending on pointing towards any 1 player. I wish the Devils well and hope to see them snap out of their current funk this weekend...

Re: Zanesville
At no point in any post have I singled out anyone. I have only pointed out that the blame doesn't belong to the guards, post, seniors, underclassmen, or coaching staff individually. There are a lot of problems in town and until the Blue Devils play with pride and heart they will remain. There have b...

Re: Zanesville
What I am saying is coming straight from the horses mouth. The problem this team is having is internal and is something that the coaches can't fix. I also know that these kids read this smut on here and reading only about how bad they are and how people who had legal troubles would have helped this ...

Re: Zanesville @ Marietta 1/9
Don't know much about Marietta and never quite sure which Blue Devil team is going to get off the bus. I do know the JV team has been in like 4 OT games so far this year so they are battle tested. Varsity could be great but has been less than expected thus far.
What does Marietta have this year?

Re: Zanesville
In watching this team this season the one thing I see is lack of heart and focus for 32 minutes. I am not talking about any 1 kid or anyone game. It is a collection of players that make up this team and they need to give 100% effort in practice and in the game. Do I look at this team and see a team ...

Re: Logan vs Zanesville
I was at last nights contest and to be completely honest I was impressed with Logan. They may be one of the best 1-3 or 1-4 teams in the state. They just lack that winning mentallity late in close games. Mays and Angle are so strong for their positions that I was shocked that they weren't on the blo...

Re: SEOAL 2009 Predictions
I am not really all that sure what is coming back in the South Division but in the North I look for Marietta and Zanesville to battle it out for top honors. Warren lost a whale of a good player in Wagner a year ago, and I didn't see what they had coming up. Their coaching staff always seems to field...

Re: Zanesville Vs. Warren 12/19
Wow some animosity from those folks in Vincent. D1 wanna be's huh that is rich, I guess after the woodshed beatings you guys have taken the last couple of years it could be frustrating. I was at both games this weekend and the fact of the matter is if Zanesville had played on Friday the way they did...

Re: Zanesville Vs. Warren 12/19
Unfortunately I was not at the 1st game in Reynoldsburg. I have heard it was hard to watch the 13+ turnovers in the 1st quarter alone. I expect the Blue Devils have had a hard week at practice and are more than ready to get back on the floor at home against Warren Local. With so much youth in the li...

Re: SEOAL FANS NOMINATIONS FOR ALL-LEAGUE
For Zanesville I would go with: SO Wade Kaido 3B/1B batting over .400 SR Shane Miller C batting over .400 JR JT Bunting CF unreal glove leads team and maybe league in SB's and team leader on/off the field SR Adam Young DH/P batting over .400 battled injury 4 year letter winner SR Corey Hull SS 3 err...

Re: SEOAL Scores and Standings
Watching Zanesville this year has been quite an experience. After losing SR's Alex Cultice (34 W's in 4 years, BA>.450) and Cory Swope (SS for 2 seasons and BA > .400) to graduation most in zville wrote this team off. They have proven yet again that a team that works hard in the offseason, play fund...
